This is a 14.4V 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Midea i5, i5 Young, i5 Extra, and i9 EYE cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part numbers BP14435A and BP14433A. Fit the battery and the vacuum runs at full suction power again — no tools required.

  • i5 and i9 EYE platform compatibility: These models share the same 14.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirements. One cell pack covers the full range listed above without adapter modifications.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on the i5 under sustained motor load. The BMS held voltage within spec across both hard floor and carpet modes, and the protection circuit responded correctly to simulated blockage overcurrent without nuisance tripping.
  • Dock charging habit on the Midea i5: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. The i5 dock does not cut trickle charge once full. Continuous float charging degrades cell capacity faster than normal cycle wear. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock and store it separately.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the Midea i5

This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects — most often caused by a partially blocked filter, not a weak battery. A restricted airflow path forces the motor to work harder, pulling current above the pack's rated draw and triggering a soft voltage sag. The vacuum feels underpowered even though the indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest — a clear airflow path brings motor draw back within the battery's rated output window.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty motor. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, full dustbin, or a jammed brush roll — the motor surges to maintain airflow and current spikes past the protection threshold. The BMS shuts the output rail, the motor stops, and once the pack cools slightly the circuit resets. Fix the restriction first. If cutout continues on a clear filter, check that pack voltage under load does not drop below 12.5V — a pack that sags past that point under normal draw needs replacement.

My Midea i5 loses suction halfway through a room even though the battery still shows charge — is the new battery faulty?

Most likely not the battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, causing voltage to sag under load before the indicator registers low. Remove and clean the filter, empty the dustbin, and check the brush roll for hair wrap. If suction holds after clearing the restriction, the battery is working correctly.

The Midea i5 motor keeps cutting out and restarting every few seconds during heavy carpet cleaning — what's causing it?

That's the BMS tripping on overcurrent, then resetting once the pack recovers. On thick carpet, the brush roll resistance spikes motor draw beyond the protection threshold, especially if the filter has any restriction at all. Clean the filter and check that the brush roll spins freely. If cutouts stop, the battery is fine — if they continue on a clear machine, measure pack voltage under load and replace if it drops below 12.5V.

I bought this replacement battery but my Midea i5 capacity seems to have dropped after just a few weeks — did I damage it?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause. The Midea i5 charging dock does not stop trickle current once the pack is full, so leaving the vacuum docked between every use degrades cell capacity faster than normal cycling. Remove the vacuum from the dock as soon as charging is complete and store it off the dock. Packs used this way hold capacity through significantly more charge cycles than those left on constant float charge.
