Fits Miele Scout RX2 and Scout RX3 robotic vacuums; replaces OEM part number 10559142.
14.8V and 6700mAh capacity delivers the voltage and charge this floor-cleaning robot needs for full-cycle operation.
Connector seats into the Scout RX2 battery dock with a straight vertical insertion and mechanical locking tab engagement.
We ran this cell through five full discharge cycles on the Scout RX2 dock; BMS held steady voltage delivery under motor load with no early cutoff events.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently — cordless vacuums on continuous dock charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than those charged only when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Miele Scout RX2 / RX3 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (10559142)

This is a 14.8V, 6700mAh Li-ion battery for the Miele Scout RX2 and Scout RX3 robotic vacuum cleaners. It slots into the same battery bay as the original and uses the same OEM part reference (10559142 / 11779170). When the original cell degrades, the robot cuts cleaning cycles short or refuses to dock-charge — this replacement restores full operating capacity.

  • RX2 and RX3 compatibility: Both models run the same 14.8V four-cell Li-ion architecture and use the same BMS handshake protocol with the charging station. One battery fits both platforms without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the Scout's charging station and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly — charge acceptance, cell balancing, and protection cutoffs all behaved within spec.
  • Dock charging habit on robotic vacuums: Do not leave the Scout sitting on the dock permanently between uses. Robotic vacuums on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than units charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove the robot from the dock if it will sit unused for more than a few days.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the Scout RX2

This happens when the filter is partially blocked and the motor draws more current than its rated load. The BMS sees an overcurrent condition and reduces power to the motor before the battery itself is depleted. The battery indicator still reads mid-range because the cells are fine — the restriction is the problem. Clean or replace the filter, and the full suction level returns at the same charge state.

Scout RX3 not charging after fitting a replacement battery

The Scout's charging station expects a BMS handshake before it begins passing current. If the replacement battery's BMS does not respond correctly, the dock LED may stay amber or show no activity at all. Verify the battery terminals are seated fully — the connector is a friction fit and partial contact breaks the handshake. If the dock still does not begin charging, measure voltage at the battery terminals: a fully discharged cell below 10V may need a brief manual charge cycle to wake the BMS before the dock can take over.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Scout RX2 cuts out mid-clean and then restarts on its own — is this the battery or the motor?

This is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failing motor. When suction is restricted — blocked brush roll, clogged filter, or a carpet fibre jam — the motor draws a sustained spike above its rated current, and the BMS cuts power to protect the cells. The robot recovers once current drops back to normal. Clear the brush roll and wash or replace the filter; if the cut-outs stop, the battery is not the cause.

My Scout RX3 battery fades noticeably after only a few months — it ran much longer when new. What causes this?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause. Robotic vacuums that live on the charging station receive a low-level trickle charge that stresses Li-ion cells over weeks, accelerating capacity fade faster than normal cycle wear. The cells do not fail outright — they lose usable capacity gradually. Charge the replacement battery to full, remove the robot from the dock, and only return it to charge when the battery is depleted.

The Scout RX2 is running but suction feels weak even with a new battery and a clean filter — what should I check?

Weak suction with a charged battery usually means voltage sag under motor load. If the cells have degraded, terminal voltage drops under the sustained draw of the cleaning motor even though the indicator shows charge remaining. Measure battery terminal voltage while the Scout is actively running — a healthy 14.8V pack should hold above 13.5V under load. If it drops below that, the cells are no longer delivering rated current and the battery needs replacing.
