Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Miele SLQL0 / Scout RX1 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (9702922)
This 14.4V Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Miele SLQL0, RX1-SJQL0, RX2-SLQL0, and Scout RX1 cordless vacuum cleaners. Capacity is 3400mAh (48.96Wh), matching the factory specification. It fits the OEM battery positions on all listed models and uses the same connector and BMS communication protocol as the original Miele pack (part nos. 9702920, 9702922, 9702925).
- Scout RX1 and SLQL0 platform compatibility: These models share a common battery bay format, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell format covers the full listed range without adapter or modification. The connector orientation and locking tab are identical across the SLQL0, RX1-SJQL0, and RX2-SLQL0 variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Scout RX1 platform. The BMS accepted the replacement pack without fault codes, and the motor drew current within the expected operating band across hard floor and carpet modes. No overcurrent trips occurred during the cycle.
- Dock charging habit on Miele Scout models: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. Miele Scout RX1 units left docked permanently develop capacity fade significantly faster than units charged only when depleted. Charge the pack fully, then remove it from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the SLQL0 and Scout RX1, suction loss during a cleaning pass — while the battery indicator still shows adequate charge — is almost always a motor voltage sag issue, not a cell fault. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder, draws more current than rated, and the BMS throttles output voltage to protect the pack. The symptom looks like a dying battery but the cell is still holding charge. Clean or replace the filter first. If suction recovers immediately after filter cleaning, the battery is not the cause.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. The Scout RX1's BMS monitors sustained current draw and cuts the output circuit when draw exceeds the trip threshold — typically triggered by restricted airflow forcing the motor to labour continuously. The BMS resets after the pack temperature drops slightly, which is why the vacuum restarts after a short rest. Check the filter and airways for blockage before assuming the battery is at fault. If the motor cuts out on a clean filter with no restriction, measure open-circuit pack voltage — a healthy cell at rest should read at least 15.8V off-charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Miele Scout RX1 has noticeably shorter cleaning sessions than it used to — could a blocked filter be causing this?
Yes, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes the BMS to reduce output earlier than it otherwise would. The battery reads depleted before the cells are actually low. Clean or replace the filter and recharge the pack fully — if session length improves, the filter was the cause, not the battery itself.
The vacuum runs for a short time, then cuts out completely, but restarts after sitting for a minute — what is happening?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip. The Scout RX1 BMS cuts the output circuit when sustained current draw — usually caused by restricted airflow — exceeds its protection threshold. After the pack cools slightly, the BMS resets and the motor can restart. Clear any blockage from the filter, brush roll, and airways, then test again. If the cut-out still happens on unrestricted suction, check pack voltage at rest — it should read at least 15.8V after a full charge.
My replacement battery is not charging on the Miele dock — the charger light just flashes or shows no activity at all.
The Miele dock communicates with the battery BMS before beginning a charge cycle, and if the replacement pack's BMS does not respond correctly, the charger will not initiate. First, seat the battery firmly — a loose connection on the dock contacts will cause the same symptom. If the light still shows no activity, remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it to allow the BMS to re-initialise. If charging begins but stops early, the pack voltage may have dropped below the charger's acceptance threshold from storage — a brief top-up on a compatible Li-ion charger at 14.4V nominal can bring it back into range.
