Replaces Philips 4ICR19/65 battery for FC8820, FC8810, FC8830, FC8832 cordless stick vacuums.
This 14.4V 3400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 48.96Wh to sustain motor power across floor and surface cleaning cycles.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a positive-contact lock tab; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested this cell in an FC8820 dock charger — BMS accepted the handshake on first insertion and held steady voltage under sustained motor draw.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently between uses; continuous trickle charging causes capacity fade faster than removing the cell when full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips FC8820 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4ICR19/65)

This is a 14.4V 3400mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Philips FC8820 cordless vacuum cleaner. It also fits the FC8810, FC8830, and FC8832, along with several additional models in the same platform. OEM part number is 4ICR19/65.

  • FC8810, FC8820, FC8830, FC8832 platform fit: These models share the same 14.4V cell configuration, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between them uses the same pack without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on the FC8820 dock and monitored BMS behaviour under motor-start load. The BMS handled peak draw on carpet mode without tripping, and charge termination fired correctly at full capacity.
  • Dock charging discipline for this vacuum: Do not leave the FC8820 sitting on the charging dock continuously. Philips cordless vacuums in this range trickle-charge when docked past full capacity. Charge to full, remove the vacuum from the dock, and only re-dock when the battery is depleted.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor is drawing more current than the BMS expects under restricted airflow. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling current above the rated draw and causing the BMS to throttle output voltage before the indicator registers low. The vacuum feels like the battery is failing when the real issue is a dirty filter increasing motor load. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers immediately, the battery is fine.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then comes back on

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the FC8820 hits a sustained blockage — dense carpet pile, a clump of debris at the nozzle, or a clogged filter — current spikes past the BMS cutoff threshold and the pack disconnects to protect the cells. The BMS resets automatically after a few seconds, which is why the vacuum returns to normal. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and verify the nozzle path is unobstructed before resuming. If the trip happens repeatedly on clear floors, check that the replacement pack voltage at rest reads at least 14.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My FC8820 loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows full — is the battery dying?

Not necessarily. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes the BMS to drop output voltage before the indicator moves. Pull and clean the filter first — if suction returns to full strength immediately, the battery is not the cause. If suction stays weak after cleaning the filter, check the nozzle and hose path for blockages before replacing the pack.

The vacuum keeps cutting out for a few seconds and then comes back on by itself — what is causing that?

That is a BMS overcurrent trip. When the motor hits a sustained restriction — blocked nozzle, thick carpet, clogged filter — current spikes above the BMS cutoff and the pack disconnects to protect the cells. It resets automatically after a few seconds, which is why power returns. Clear the restriction and check the filter; if the trip keeps happening on open floors with a clean filter, rest the pack off the dock for 10 minutes and check that the terminal voltage reads at least 14.0V before the next run.

I charged the new battery fully but after a few weeks of leaving the vacuum on the dock it seems to run shorter than it did when it arrived — did I get a faulty pack?

The pack is likely fine. Philips FC8820 docks trickle-charge the battery continuously after it reaches full, and sustained trickle charge accelerates capacity fade in lithium-ion cells. A few weeks of permanent docking is enough to measurably reduce capacity. Remove the vacuum from the dock once charging is complete and only return it to the dock when the battery is depleted — this will stop further fade and allow the remaining capacity to stabilise.
