Fits Sencor SVC-220, SVC-220SL, and SVC-220BL handheld vacuums; replaces OEM part number 126270.
4.8V, 3000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 14.4Wh to sustain motor torque across carpet and hard floors.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot; locking tab clicks audibly when seated fully.
We bench-tested the cell across three charge cycles; BMS accepted dock contact without fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously—Ni-MH packs on indefinite trickle charge lose capacity fast; charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sencor SVC-220 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (126270)

This is a 4.8V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Sencor SVC-220 cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It fits the SVC-220, SVC-220SL, and SVC-220BL models and uses OEM part number 126270. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold enough charge to complete a cleaning session.

  • SVC-220, SVC-220SL, and SVC-220BL fit: All three variants run the same 4.8V motor rail, same connector, and the same cell format — the battery pack is interchangeable across this model range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through load draws consistent with the SVC-220 motor at full suction. The BMS held the discharge curve cleanly and did not trip under sustained draw on hard floor cleaning cycles.
  • Dock charging habit for this vacuum: Do not leave the SVC-220 sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charge accelerates capacity fade in Ni-MH cells faster than in lithium chemistries. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The SVC-220 motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked — the airflow restriction forces the motor to work harder against the same load. That elevated draw pulls cell voltage down faster than normal, so suction weakens well before the indicator suggests the battery is spent. The battery itself is not always the cause. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest suction under the same conditions.

Motor cutting out mid-use then recovering after a pause

This pattern — motor stops, vacuum sits for 30 seconds, motor runs again — is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. A sustained restriction in the airflow path forces current draw above the BMS threshold and the circuit opens to protect the cell. Clearing the nozzle, filter, or dustbin restores normal draw levels. If the cut-out persists on an unblocked vacuum with a fresh battery, measure cell voltage at rest — it should read at or above 5.4V on a fully charged 4.8V Ni-MH pack.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SVC-220 loses suction halfway through cleaning even though the battery light isn't showing low — is the new battery faulty?

Not necessarily. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which pulls the cell voltage down faster and weakens suction long before the indicator reacts. Clean the filter completely and retest — in most cases suction returns to full strength. If the problem persists with a clean filter, check cell voltage after a full charge; a healthy 4.8V Ni-MH pack should read at or above 5.4V at rest.

The vacuum runs for a short burst, cuts out, then works again after I leave it for a minute — what's causing that?

That stop-and-restart cycle is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not a battery failure. When airflow through the nozzle or dustbin is restricted, the motor pulls above its rated current draw and the protection circuit opens to prevent cell damage. Clear the nozzle, filter, and dustbin completely, then run the vacuum again. If cut-outs continue on an unobstructed vacuum with a clean filter, the fault is more likely a worn motor than the battery.

I bought a replacement battery for my SVC-220 but the charger doesn't seem to be charging it — the indicator never changes.

Some Sencor chargers expect a minimum cell voltage before they begin a charge cycle. A deeply discharged Ni-MH pack can sit below that threshold and appear dead to the charger. Try placing the battery on charge for 20–30 minutes — some chargers recover a low cell slowly before the indicator updates. If the indicator still shows no activity after an hour, verify the charger output with a multimeter; it should deliver between 6V and 7V DC at the charging contacts.
