Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Sharp COCOROBO RX-V60 / RX-V80 / RX-V90 / RX-V100 — 16V LiFePO4 Replacement Battery (UBATiA001VBKZ)
This is a 16V LiFePO4 replacement battery for the Sharp COCOROBO robotic vacuum cleaner range. It fits the RX-V60, RX-V80, RX-V90, RX-V100 and six additional COCOROBO variants. Capacity is 3000mAh (48Wh), matching the original specification.
- COCOROBO series compatibility: The RX-V60 through RX-V100 share the same 16V battery platform and connector format. All run the same BMS handshake, so the UBATiA001VBKZ and cross-referenced part numbers (UBATiA003VBKZ, F-4991-810-1, LIS5003SPP) all apply across this lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the COCOROBO platform. The BMS responded correctly to the dock charger's handshake, accepted a full charge without fault codes, and held voltage under sustained drive-motor load on both hard floor and carpet-resistance profiles.
- Dock charging discipline: Do not leave the COCOROBO sitting on its dock permanently between cleaning sessions. Continuous trickle charge through the dock accelerates capacity fade in LiFePO4 cells at this form factor. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the drive motor draws more current than rated — usually caused by a partially blocked filter or brush roll restriction. The BMS responds to the elevated draw by reducing cell output voltage before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery event. The vacuum loses suction, but the LED still shows charge remaining. Clear the filter and brush roll first. If suction recovers immediately, the battery is not the cause — the restriction was forcing the motor above its normal draw threshold.
Motor cuts out mid-cycle and then restarts on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the COCOROBO transitions from hard floor to carpet, motor load spikes sharply. If the filter is even partially blocked at that moment, current demand exceeds the BMS trip threshold and the cell disconnects to protect itself. The unit then restarts once the BMS resets — typically within a few seconds. Clean the filter until airflow is unrestricted, then confirm the resting pack voltage reads at or above 15.2V before the next run.

Frequently Asked Questions
My COCOROBO RX-V80 runs for a much shorter time than it used to — the filter is clean, so why is the battery draining so fast?
Capacity fade from continuous dock charging is the most common cause on the COCOROBO range. Leaving the robot on the dock between every session means the LiFePO4 cells spend extended periods under trickle charge, which degrades usable capacity over time even when the pack reads as "full." The replacement cell restores original capacity, but the dock habit will repeat the problem. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock — only return it to charge when depleted.
The replacement battery clicked into the COCOROBO and the dock light came on, but the unit won't start a cleaning cycle — what's wrong?
The COCOROBO's control board performs a BMS handshake before releasing motor power. If the dock indicator lights but the unit won't run, the pack voltage may be too low from storage for the handshake to complete. Place the battery on the dock for a full uninterrupted charge cycle — typically until the dock indicator shifts from charging to complete — then attempt to start a cycle. If the unit still won't run after a confirmed full charge, check that the battery connector is fully seated; a partial engagement passes the dock circuit but can drop the motor supply line.
The COCOROBO cuts out every time it moves from hard floor onto a thick rug — is that a battery fault?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by the motor-load spike at the carpet transition. When the brush roll meets higher resistance, current demand jumps sharply. If the filter is even slightly restricted, the combined draw exceeds the BMS trip threshold and the cell disconnects. The unit restarts once the BMS resets. Clean the filter fully, then test the transition again. If cut-outs stop, the battery is functioning correctly — the restriction was the cause. If cut-outs continue on a clean filter, check resting pack voltage; it should read at or above 15.2V before a run.
