Fits Symbo D300 handheld vacuum cleaners and replaces the OEM 14.4V battery pack.
14.4V and 1800mAh capacity delivers adequate power draw for routine household cleaning without mid-cycle voltage sag.
Connector type matches the Symbo D300 dock contact points; slide the pack into the grip slot until the locking tabs click firmly into place.
Bench testing showed the Ni-MH BMS accepted a standard trickle charge curve without early cutoff or cell imbalance flags on the first three cycles.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently — cordless Ni-MH packs on continuous dock charge degrade capacity significantly faster than those charged only when depleted, so remove from dock immediately after reaching full charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Symbo D300 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V 1800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Symbo D300 cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It slots directly into the D300 and restores suction power when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge. Capacity is 1800mAh (25.92Wh), matching the original specification.

  • D300 platform fit: The D300 runs a 14.4V motor rail. This cell matches that voltage and the physical form factor — 99.74 × 43.03 × 29.13mm. The BMS in the D300 does not implement a proprietary handshake, so the replacement cell communicates correctly with the charger and motor controller.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full discharge under a resistive load matching the D300 motor draw, then recharged. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted charge without fault codes on the dock charger.
  • Dock charging behaviour on the D300: Do not leave the D300 sitting on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in continuous trickle charge degrade faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge the vacuum to full, then remove it from the dock until the next use.

Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells develop internal resistance as they age. Under motor load — especially on carpet or with a partially blocked filter — that resistance causes a voltage sag that the motor controller reads as a low-battery condition before the cell is actually depleted. The result is reduced suction or a motor cutout even when the indicator still shows charge. Cleaning the filter and confirming the cell voltage under load sits above 12.5V will isolate whether the issue is the filter, the cell, or the motor controller.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the D300's suction path is restricted — blocked filter, full dustbin, or a dense carpet pile — the motor draws more current than the BMS allows and it trips to protect the cell. The BMS resets once the current draw drops, which is why the vacuum recovers after a pause. Clear the filter and empty the bin before resuming; if the trip repeats on an unobstructed surface, measure resting cell voltage — a healthy cell should read above 13.5V off the charger.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Symbo D300 suction drops noticeably halfway through a clean even though the battery light isn't showing low — what's causing that?

This is voltage sag under load, not a faulty indicator. As Ni-MH cells age, internal resistance rises and the voltage dips when the motor draws current — the indicator doesn't catch it because it reads resting voltage, not loaded voltage. A partially blocked filter makes it worse by forcing the motor to work harder and draw more current. Clean the filter fully, then check whether the drop persists; if it does, measure cell voltage under load — it should stay above 12.5V during operation.

The D300 keeps cutting out after 10–15 seconds of use on thick carpet and then starts again — is the battery faulty?

This is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not a failed cell. Thick carpet restricts airflow and makes the motor pull more current than the BMS threshold allows, so it shuts the circuit to protect the cell — then resets once the load drops. Check the filter and dustbin first; blocked airflow is the most common trigger. If it trips on clean hard floors with an empty bin, the cell's capacity may have faded enough that its internal resistance is causing the overcurrent reading — replace the cell.

I replaced the battery in my D300 but the runtime is now much shorter than it was when the vacuum was new — did I get a weak cell?

Short runtime after fitting a new cell usually points to the filter, not the battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which burns through charge faster than normal use would. We ran this cell on the bench at rated draw and it delivered its full 1800mAh capacity. Clean or replace the D300 filter, then run a full charge-to-depletion cycle — runtime should return to the expected level.
