Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba CL410AC / VC-JCL30 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CA3C-PG1)
This is an 18V, 1750mAh Li-ion battery for Toshiba cordless stick vacuums, including the CL410AC, VC-JCL30, VC-CL200, and VC-CL1200. It replaces OEM part numbers CA3C-PG1, CL3C-PG, CL2-PG, CL3-PG, BP18020J, and several others listed in the compatibility data. The battery slots into the vacuum's battery bay and powers the motor through standard floor and surface cleaning cycles.
- CL410AC and VC series compatibility: These models share the same 18V battery rail, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell covers the full group — no adapter or firmware difference between them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the CL410AC platform. The BMS held charge termination correctly, and the overcurrent cutoff tripped at the expected threshold under sustained high-draw load.
- Dock charging behaviour on cordless vacuums: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously. Li-ion cells in cordless vacuums develop capacity fade significantly faster under trickle charge conditions. Charge to full, then remove the battery or vacuum from the dock.
Motor cutting out on thick carpet or under sustained load
When the CL410AC motor draws above its rated current — typically on carpet with a restricted filter — the BMS trips the overcurrent cutoff. The vacuum stops, waits a few seconds, and restarts. This is not a faulty battery. The BMS is doing what it should. Clear the filter first, because a blocked filter forces the motor to work harder and spike current draw above safe limits. If the cutoff trip repeats on a clean filter, check that the battery voltage sits at or above 16.5V after a full charge.
Suction fades before the battery indicator shows low
This happens when cells lose capacity unevenly across the pack — the indicator still reads mid-charge but motor voltage has already sagged enough to reduce suction noticeably. A partially blocked exhaust filter compounds the effect by forcing the motor to pull harder against back-pressure. Check both the pre-motor and post-motor filters and clean or replace them. If suction recovers after filter service, the battery is likely fine — if it does not, the cell needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Toshiba vacuum cuts out for a few seconds and then restarts mid-clean — is that a battery fault?
That's the BMS tripping the overcurrent cutoff, not a failed battery. It happens when the motor draws above its rated current — most often because a blocked filter is forcing it to work harder than normal. Clean the pre-motor filter and check the floor head for a partial blockage, then run the vacuum again. If the cutout stops after clearing the restriction, the battery is functioning correctly.
My Toshiba stick vac loses suction well before the battery light even flickers — what's causing that?
Voltage sag under load causes this. As cells age or if the filter is even partially restricted, motor voltage drops enough to reduce suction noticeably while the indicator still reads mid-charge. Clean both filters first — a clogged filter increases motor draw and accelerates voltage sag. If suction stays weak on clean filters, the cell capacity has degraded and the battery needs replacing.
I leave my Toshiba vacuum on the dock between uses and the battery seems to get worse faster than expected — is that normal?
Yes — continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in cordless stick vacuums. The charger maintains a trickle charge after the cell reaches full, and Li-ion cells degrade faster when held at high state-of-charge continuously. Charge the battery fully, then disconnect the vacuum or remove it from the dock. Only dock it again when the battery is noticeably depleted.
