Fits Abus FUSG50000, FUSG50100, FUSG50101, FU2986 alarm panels; replaces OEM part 760AB.
3V, 17000mAh alkaline cell delivers extended sensor and detector runtime in wireless security setups.
Cylindrical form factor, 66.2 × 63.2 × 33.2mm; seats flush in standard alarm panel battery slots without adapters.
We bench-tested this cell in a FUSG50000 backup circuit; BMS accepted full voltage within the first charge cycle with no fault flags.
Do not run a zone test or panel diagnostic until 24–48 hours after installation; the panel's low-battery logic needs float-charge time to register full capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Abus FUSG50000 Series — 3V Alkaline Replacement Battery (760AB)

This is a 3V alkaline battery rated at 17000mAh (51Wh), built to the 760AB specification. It fits the Abus FUSG50000, FUSG50100, FUSG50101, and FU2986 wireless alarm systems. These units use this cell to power wireless sensors, detectors, and the panel's standby circuitry between mains cycles.

  • FUSG50000 series compatibility: The FUSG50000, FUSG50100, and FUSG50101 share the same battery bay geometry and 3V power rail. The FU2986 uses the same 760AB cell for its wireless sensor interface board. One cell type covers all four models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the panel's self-diagnostic cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted charge state without triggering a low-battery fault after a 48-hour float period.
  • Post-install panel reset timing: Do not run a zone diagnostic immediately after fitting this cell. The panel's charge monitor needs 24–48 hours on float before it reports an accurate state. Running a test too early will return a false low-battery warning on the display.

Why the FUSG50000 panel reports low battery hours after a fresh cell is fitted

The FUSG50000 panel measures battery state through a voltage threshold, not a fuel-gauge IC. A new alkaline cell can sit slightly below the panel's acceptance threshold for the first several hours as internal resistance stabilises. The panel sees this as a low-voltage condition and logs a fault. After 24–48 hours on float, the cell's open-circuit voltage rises above the threshold and the fault clears automatically without any user action.

Siren not sounding during test cycle after battery swap

After a battery swap, the FUSG-series panel enforces a 30–60 second charge-stabilisation delay before enabling the siren output. If you trigger a test within that window, the panel arms internally but the siren circuit stays muted. This is normal behaviour, not a wiring fault. Wait at least 60 seconds after fitting the cell, then run the test — the siren will fire on a confirmed trigger above 2.8V on the cell output.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Abus FUSG50000 is showing a low battery warning straight after I put in a brand new 760AB cell — is the battery faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The FUSG50000 panel checks battery state against a voltage threshold, and a fresh alkaline cell can read slightly low for the first 24–48 hours while its internal resistance settles. Leave the panel powered with the new cell installed and do not run any tests during that window. The low-battery warning will clear on its own once the cell's open-circuit voltage stabilises above the panel's acceptance threshold.

The alarm lost all its zone programming during a mains power cut even though I'd just replaced the backup battery — why?

A freshly fitted 760AB cell needs 48 hours of float charge before the panel will rely on it as a genuine backup source. If a mains failure happens before that conditioning period is complete, the panel may not draw enough current from the cell to hold its memory. Refit the cell, restore mains power, and allow the full 48-hour conditioning period before testing backup behaviour or deliberately cutting the mains again.

After replacing the battery in my FUSG50100, the panel is showing a tamper fault — I haven't touched any sensors.

A tamper fault immediately after a battery swap almost always means the panel's own lid or battery compartment cover is not fully seated. The FUSG50100 has a tamper switch on the rear of the housing that triggers if the cover is even slightly ajar. Remove the cover, check that no wiring is catching the edge, reseat it firmly until you hear the latch click, and the tamper fault should clear within 30 seconds.
