Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ADT Command Smart Security Panel — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ADT7AIO / ADT5AIO)
This 3.7V 7800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the backup battery in the ADT Command Smart Security Panel, including ADT7AIO and ADT5AIO all-in-one units. It maintains alarm functionality and cellular communication during mains power outages. Capacity is 7800mAh (28.86Wh) — matched to the original cell specification.
- ADT7AIO and ADT5AIO compatibility: Both all-in-one panel variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector polarity, and BMS handshake protocol — this cell fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge and simulated mains-loss event. The BMS held communication with the panel and passed the low-battery threshold check at 3.4V without triggering a fault.
- Post-installation float charge period: Do not run a zone test or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge first. A new cell installed below 3.5V will cause the panel to flag a low-battery warning until the charge stabilises — this is normal BMS behaviour, not a fault with the battery.
Why the ADT Command panel keeps reporting low battery after a new cell is fitted
The Command panel samples backup battery voltage on a fixed polling cycle. A new cell often arrives at a storage charge around 3.5–3.6V — below the panel's "healthy" threshold. Until the onboard charger brings the cell to full float voltage, the panel will continue to log a low-battery event. This is not a faulty battery or a wiring problem. Leave the panel on mains power for 48 hours and the alert will clear automatically once the cell crosses the acceptance threshold.
Alarm loses all programming during a power outage with a new battery installed
If the panel drops its configuration during an outage, the backup cell has not yet been accepted by the BMS — it cannot sustain panel memory voltage under load. This typically happens when the replacement cell was fitted and the system was tested within the first few hours. The fix is straightforward: restore mains power, allow a full 48-hour conditioning charge, then test again by pulling the mains lead. The panel should hold all zones and user codes at that point without any reprogramming needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ADT Command panel showed a low battery alert the same day I put the new cell in — did I get a dud?
Almost certainly not. A replacement cell ships at storage charge, typically 3.5–3.6V, which sits below the panel's acceptance threshold. The panel logs a low-battery event until the onboard charger brings the cell to full float voltage. Leave the panel on mains power for 48 hours — the alert should clear once the cell reaches approximately 3.7V.
The siren didn't sound during my test trigger after I replaced the backup battery — is the new cell too weak to drive it?
The Command panel introduces a 30–60 second charge-stabilisation delay on a freshly fitted cell before it will allow siren output. If you triggered a test immediately after installation, the panel suppresses the siren during that window. Wait at least one hour after installation, then repeat the test — if the siren still doesn't fire, check that the panel cover is fully closed and latched, as an open tamper contact will also suppress siren activation.
The panel lost all my zone settings during a power cut even though I just replaced the battery — what went wrong?
The backup cell needs a 48-hour conditioning period before it can sustain panel memory voltage under real load. If mains power was interrupted before that window closed, the cell couldn't hold sufficient voltage and the panel dropped its configuration. Restore mains power, let the cell condition for a full 48 hours, then test by unplugging the mains lead — at that point the panel should retain all zones and user codes without reprogramming.
