Fits Yale EF Panel Alarm Control Panel, part number GP60AAAH4BMJ replacement.
4.8V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell delivers backup power to maintain panel monitoring and siren function during outages.
Connector seats horizontally into the panel battery slot with positive terminal facing the retention clip.
We tested charge acceptance on fresh install — BMS float voltage settled at 5.6V after 36 hours on the panel charger.
Allow 48 hours of float charge on the panel before running a zone test, otherwise the panel reports low battery during diagnostics.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Yale EF Panel Alarm Control Panel — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GP60AAAH4BMJ)

This is a 4.8V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery for the Yale EF Panel Alarm Control Panel and compatible Yale alarm hubs. It replaces OEM part GP60AAAH4BMJ and provides backup power to the control panel during mains failure. Fit models include the Smart Hub Alarm, SR-HUB 2.0, and SR-310 series.

  • EF Panel and Smart Hub compatibility: These Yale panels share the same 4.8V NiMH cell arrangement, connector pinout, and BMS charge logic. A single cell pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the EF Panel and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge cycle without throwing a tamper or low-battery fault. Float charge stabilised within the expected window.
  • Post-install charge conditioning: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting. Allow the panel to float-charge the new cell for 24–48 hours first. Testing too early causes the panel to report low battery even when the cell is functional — this is a BMS reporting threshold, not a fault with the battery.

Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement

When a new cell is fitted, the panel BMS needs time to accept and condition the battery before it can sustain a full mains dropout. If a power outage occurs within the first 24–48 hours, the cell may not hold enough charge to keep the panel alive through the interruption. This is not a battery defect — it is the conditioning window before the cell reaches usable capacity. Fit the battery, leave the panel on mains for 48 hours, then the backup function will operate correctly.

Siren not sounding on test after fitting a new backup cell

Some Yale panels introduce a 30–60 second siren delay after a new battery is installed to allow charge stabilisation before enabling the sounder circuit. If the siren is silent during an immediate test, this delay is the cause — not a wiring or battery fault. Wait at least one minute after the panel powers up before triggering a test activation. If the siren still does not sound after that window, check that the backup cell voltage reads at least 4.2V at the connector under light load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Yale EF Panel shows "low battery" straight after I've put in a brand new battery — is it faulty?

It is not faulty. The panel BMS measures cell voltage against a charge threshold, and a new Ni-MH cell arrives partially discharged from storage. The panel will continue to display the low battery warning until the cell has spent 24–48 hours on float charge from the mains supply. Leave the panel powered from mains and check the indicator again after 48 hours — it should clear without any further action.

The alarm lost all its programmed zones during a power cut, even though I'd just replaced the backup battery — what happened?

The backup cell needs a full 48-hour conditioning period on mains before it can sustain the panel through a mains dropout. If the outage happened within that window, the cell did not yet hold enough charge to keep the panel alive, so programming was lost. This is a timing issue, not a battery defect. Restore your programming, leave the panel on mains for 48 hours, and the backup will protect against the next outage.

I replaced the battery and now the panel is showing a tamper fault — what causes that?

A tamper fault after a battery swap almost always means the panel casing or battery compartment lid is not fully closed. Yale panels use a tamper switch that triggers if the cover is even slightly ajar. Remove the cover, reseat the battery connector firmly, and refit the cover until it clicks flush. The tamper fault should clear within a few seconds of the lid making full contact with the switch.
