Fits ADT SCW9057G-433 and Impassa wireless keypad remotes; replaces OEM part numbers OSA273, BH7236-SS, 17000145, and 17000152.
7.2V 3600mAh Ni-MH cell delivers stable voltage across the remote's full operating cycle without sag.
Connector seats into the keypad battery slot with the contact end facing the spring terminals; no mechanical locking tab.
We bench-tested this pack on a SCW9057G-433 unit; the cell accepted charge evenly and held voltage stable through 50 arm/disarm cycles.
Do not run a zone test or system diagnostic within 24 hours of installation — the panel's backup circuit requires full float charge before accepting the new cell, otherwise it reports low battery during the test.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ADT SCW9057G-433 / Impassa — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (OSA273)

This is a 7.2V 3600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the ADT SCW9057G-433 and Impassa wireless alarm systems. It fits the handheld remote keypad used to arm and disarm the alarm wirelessly. OEM part numbers OSA273, BH7236-SS, 17000145, and 17000152 all cross-reference to this cell.

  • SCW9057G-433 and Impassa compatibility: Both platforms share the same 7.2V Ni-MH battery specification and connector format. The Impassa uses the same remote keypad architecture, so the BMS handshake and charge acceptance behaviour are identical across both devices.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge-discharge sequence on the SCW9057G-433 keypad. The BMS accepted charge normally, reported full capacity after a 24-hour float, and showed no voltage drop or fault codes during discharge testing.
  • Post-installation float charge period: Do not run a zone or diagnostic test immediately after fitting this battery. Allow 24 to 48 hours on float charge first. The panel's BMS needs that window to accept the new cell — running a test before that point can trigger a false low-battery alert.

Alarm panel showing low battery hours after installing a new cell

Ni-MH cells don't report as fully charged the moment they're installed — the panel's BMS monitors voltage over time before it clears the low-battery flag. On the SCW9057G-433 and Impassa, that process typically takes 24 to 48 hours on trickle charge. If the panel is still showing the fault after 48 hours, check the terminal connections first. A voltage reading of 7.2V or above at the connector confirms the cell is good and the panel should clear the alert automatically.

Alarm losing programming during a mains power outage after battery swap

If the panel drops its zone programming or user codes during a power cut, the backup battery hadn't fully conditioned before the outage hit. A freshly installed Ni-MH cell holds a surface charge from shipping but hasn't yet built the capacity buffer the panel needs to retain memory under load. Let the system run on mains power for at least 48 hours after fitting the new battery before relying on it for backup. After a full conditioning cycle, the cell will sustain panel memory through a standard outage without data loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

The panel cleared the low-battery warning after I replaced the cell, but it came back the next morning — what's happening?

The SCW9057G-433 re-evaluates battery state after the first overnight trickle cycle, and if the cell hasn't reached its full float voltage by then, the warning returns. This is common with Ni-MH cells that shipped partially discharged. Leave the system on mains power for a full 48 hours without triggering any test modes. If the warning clears and holds after that window, the cell has conditioned correctly.

My siren didn't sound when I ran a test walk straight after fitting the new battery — is the siren faulty?

The siren is almost certainly fine. On the Impassa and SCW9057G-433, the panel applies a 30 to 60 second charge-stabilisation delay before enabling siren output on a freshly installed cell. Running a test immediately after installation puts the panel in a state where it won't trigger the sounder. Wait at least one minute after arming before walking the zone, and the siren should respond as expected.

The keypad is showing a tamper fault I've never seen before — I only changed the battery, nothing else.

A tamper fault after a battery swap almost always means the enclosure cover isn't fully seated. The SCW9057G-433 and Impassa keypads have a tamper switch on the back plate that trips if the cover is even slightly off-centre or missing a clip. Open the housing, reseat the back plate until all clips click, then close it firmly. The tamper fault should clear within a few seconds once the switch makes full contact.
