Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell Home PROA7 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PROA7BAT2)
This is a 3.7V, 6700mAh lithium-ion battery for the Honeywell Home PROA7 alarm system control panel. It fits the PROA7, PROA7PLUS, Resideo PROA7C, and Resideo PROA7PLUSC panels. It provides backup power to the panel when mains power is interrupted, keeping the alarm system live during an outage.
- PROA7 and PROA7PLUS platform fit: The PROA7, PROA7C, PROA7PLUS, and PROA7PLUSC share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a PROA7 panel under simulated mains-loss conditions. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held float charge correctly, and the panel reported battery status as normal after the 48-hour conditioning window.
- Float charge conditioning on the PROA7: After fitting this cell, leave the panel on mains power for 48 hours before running any zone or siren test. The PROA7 charges the backup cell at a low float rate — running diagnostics before the cell reaches full charge will trigger a false low-battery alert on the panel keypad.
Alarm panel showing low battery hours after installing new cell
The PROA7 does not fast-charge its backup battery. It trickle-charges at a controlled float rate, so a freshly installed cell will sit below the panel's acceptance threshold for up to 48 hours. During that window, the panel reads the cell voltage as insufficient and throws a low-battery fault — even when the new cell is healthy. This is a panel behaviour, not a cell fault. Leave the panel connected to mains for a full 48 hours and the fault will clear once the cell reaches the required float voltage of approximately 4.1V.
Alarm losing programming during a power outage after battery swap
If the panel drops its zone programming or user codes during a mains outage shortly after a battery replacement, the new cell had not yet been accepted by the BMS. The PROA7 will not draw load from the backup cell until it has completed its conditioning cycle — if mains fails mid-cycle, the panel loses its power source and resets to factory defaults. The fix is to allow the full 48-hour float charge on mains before the panel is considered protected. After conditioning, trigger a deliberate mains-loss test to confirm the panel holds programming and maintains communication on battery alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
The PROA7 keypad is showing a low battery fault right after I put in the new PROA7BAT2 — did I get a dead cell?
Almost certainly not. The PROA7 charges its backup cell at a low float rate and won't report the battery as full until the cell reaches approximately 4.1V, which takes 24–48 hours on mains power. A freshly installed cell sits below that threshold, so the panel throws a low-battery fault even when the cell is fine. Leave the panel on mains for 48 hours and the fault will clear on its own.
My siren didn't fire during a test walk-through the same day I replaced the backup battery — is the cell wired wrong?
The wiring is almost certainly fine. On a freshly installed cell, the PROA7 imposes a short stabilisation delay before it will allow siren activation, giving the BMS time to verify the cell can sustain the load. Run the test again after the cell has been on float charge for at least 24 hours. If the siren still doesn't fire at that point, check the panel's siren tamper zone and confirm the backup battery fault has cleared first.
The panel lost all my zone settings during a power cut two days after I swapped the battery — what happened?
The backup cell hadn't completed its conditioning cycle before the outage hit. The PROA7 won't draw load from the cell until the BMS has accepted it through a full 48-hour float charge on mains — if mains fails before that window closes, the panel loses power entirely and resets to factory defaults. Reprogram the panel, leave it on mains for a full 48 hours, then deliberately trip the mains breaker for 30 seconds to confirm the battery holds the panel up and all programming survives.
