Fits Advent 7062 and 7065 notebooks; replaces OEM part 441684410001 and variants.
14.8V, 4400mAh Ni-Cd cell delivers 65.12Wh capacity for untethered operation away from outlets.
Connector seats flush into the Advent battery slot with positive terminal toward the latch.
We bench-tested this Ni-Cd pack on an Advent 7062 unit; BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after cell swaps.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Advent 7062 / 7065 — 14.8V Ni-CD Replacement Battery (441684410001)

This is a 14.8V, 4400mAh (65.12Wh) Nickel-Cadmium replacement battery for the Advent 7062 and 7065 notebook computers. It replaces the original cell when the laptop no longer holds a charge or shuts down unexpectedly under load. Fit models share the same connector pinout, voltage rail, and BMS communication protocol across this series.

  • 7062 and 7065 platform fit: Both models run the same 14.8V four-cell series configuration and use an identical battery bay connector with the same BMS handshake lines. One replacement cell covers both laptops without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and load discharge on a 7065 unit. The BMS negotiated correctly, charge termination fired at the expected voltage ceiling, and the fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell without throwing a fault code on the first cycle.
  • Ni-CD first-use conditioning on the 7062: After fitting, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. Ni-CD cells in this system require a complete learn cycle before the BIOS battery health monitor stops reporting an inaccurate capacity reading.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The Advent 7062 BIOS stores charge history and health data from the previous cell in its battery learn registers. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS compares real-time readings against that stale data and flags the battery as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this forces the BIOS to overwrite the old learn data. After one or two complete cycles, the health warning clears.

Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the cell voltage drops below what the system needs to sustain simultaneous CPU and display load, even though the OS fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated itself against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The reading and the real voltage diverge — the laptop shuts off because power is gone, not because the gauge hit zero. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles without interrupting the charge phase, and the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate its cutoff estimate to match the new cell's actual 14.8V curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Advent 7062 BIOS says "consider replacing your battery" straight after I fitted this new one — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The BIOS on the 7062 holds charge history from the old battery in its learn registers and flags any new cell as degraded until it sees a full cycle. Run one complete discharge to hibernate, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the BIOS overwrites the stale data and the warning disappears.

The Advent 7065 is showing a different Wh rating in system info than what's printed on the battery label — why?

The Wh figure shown in Windows or the BIOS is read from the cell's EEPROM, which stores the rated chemistry spec from the original factory programming. The physical label reflects the actual measured capacity of this replacement cell. The two numbers come from different sources and will often differ slightly — the cell delivers what is printed on the label, not what the EEPROM reports.

My Advent 7062 charge stops climbing and holds at around 80% — is the charger or the new battery causing this?

This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the cell or the charger. Some Advent BIOS versions ship with a charge threshold enabled to reduce cell wear, and that setting persists across battery swaps. Enter the BIOS setup utility, locate the battery or power section, and disable any charge limit or threshold option. After a reboot, the charge should run through to 100%.
