Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG CX8-2-80DB Series — 33.3V Li-ion Replacement Battery (140112530260)
This 33.3V, 2000mAh (66.6Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in the AEG CX8-2-80DB and related CX8 cordless stick vacuums. It fits models including the CX8-2-95BM, CX8-2-95GM, and CX8-2-95IM, among others. Match the OEM part number 140112530260 or 140112530245 against your existing pack before ordering.
- CX8 series compatibility: These models share the same 33.3V battery rail, physical housing, and BMS handshake protocol. The connector and latch geometry are identical across the CX8-2-80DB through CX8-2-95 variants, which is why one cell covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on CX8 hardware. The BMS correctly communicated with the vacuum's charge management circuit, accepted a full charge without fault codes, and delivered consistent voltage through sustained motor load.
- Dock charging on the CX8: Do not leave the vacuum mounted on the charging dock continuously. CX8 vacuums left permanently docked trickle-charge the cell even after it reaches full capacity, accelerating capacity loss over weeks. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the CX8
This happens when the motor draws more current than the rated load — usually because the filter is partially blocked. A restricted filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling higher current and causing voltage to sag at the cell terminals. The BMS reads that sag as a low-battery condition and throttles output before the indicator catches up. Clean or replace the filter first, then test again — a clear filter drops motor draw back to normal and the voltage sag disappears.
Motor cutting out mid-use and recovering after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a clogged filter, current draw spikes past the BMS protection threshold and it cuts the circuit. The pack resets itself within seconds once the load drops — which is why the vacuum restarts after a brief pause. Clear any blockage, clean the filter, and confirm the motor runs continuously. If trips still occur with a clean filter, check cell voltage under load — it should hold above 30V during normal operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My AEG CX8 has noticeably less suction than it used to, even with a fresh charge — what causes that?
A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor works harder, draws more current, and the BMS throttles output earlier to protect the cell — so the vacuum never reaches full motor speed. Remove and clean the filter thoroughly, then test suction again. If performance improves, the battery was not the problem; if suction is still weak with a clean filter, the cell may have developed capacity fade from continuous dock charging.
The replacement battery charged fine the first time, but now the charger light just flashes and charging stops early — what's happening?
A flashing charger light on the CX8 dock usually means the BMS inside the pack has not completed its handshake with the charger's charge management circuit. This can happen if the pack was deeply discharged before installation — below roughly 25V, some BMS units lock out as a protection measure. Disconnect the pack, leave it off the dock for two minutes, then reconnect and allow at least 15 minutes before checking again. If the charger still faults, measure pack voltage at the terminals — anything above 25V should recover on reconnection.
My CX8 battery fades much faster than it did when new — could leaving it on the dock be the cause?
Yes, continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on the CX8. The dock maintains a trickle charge even after the pack reaches 100%, and sustained trickle charging degrades lithium-ion cells faster than normal charge cycles. Charge the battery to full, remove the vacuum from the dock, and only redock when you need to charge again. Cells managed this way hold capacity significantly longer than those left permanently mounted.
