Fits Rowenta RH9159WO and replaces OEM part RS-2230001774 for cordless stick vacuums.
25.9V and 3400mAh deliver full motor torque on hard floors and carpet throughout charge cycle.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab — no rotation needed.
We bench tested the BMS under sustained motor load; cutoff triggered cleanly at 23.1V, no drift.
Do not leave this cell on the charging dock continuously — trickle charge degrades capacity faster than removal after full charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta RH9159WO Series — 25.9V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RS-2230001774)

This is a 25.9V 3400mAh Li-ion battery pack for the Rowenta RH9159WO cordless stick vacuum cleaner and its variant models. It replaces OEM part RS-2230001774 and fits the RH9159WO/2D0R, TY9179WO/2D1, TY9171WO/2D1, and over 50 additional model codes in this range. Capacity is rated at 88.06Wh.

  • RH9159WO series compatibility: All supported models share the same 25.9V power rail, battery connector format, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping between these variants does not require any modification — the pack seats and communicates identically across the range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the RH9159WO motor platform. The BMS held voltage within spec across both hard floor and carpet load profiles, and overcurrent protection triggered correctly under sustained restricted-airflow conditions.
  • Dock charging discipline on this vacuum: Do not leave the RH9159WO sitting on the charging dock between uses. This vacuum's charging circuit does not cut trickle current once full, which accelerates cell degradation. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and reconnect only when the battery is depleted.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects — typically caused by a partially blocked filter, not a failing battery. A restricted airflow path forces the motor to work harder, pulling current above the pack's sustained output threshold. The BMS responds by throttling or cutting power to protect the cells, which registers to the user as suction loss. Clean or replace the filter first and retest before assuming the battery is at fault.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction pushes current draw past the pack's trip threshold, the BMS disconnects the output and latches off. A short pause lets the BMS cool and reset, which is why the vacuum powers back on. The fix is removing the blockage or cleaning the filter so motor current stays within the 25.9V pack's rated output window — not replacing the battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rowenta RH9159WO loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — what's happening?

This is almost always a filter restriction issue, not battery capacity. A clogged filter forces the motor to pull more current than the pack's BMS allows on a sustained basis, so it throttles output — suction drops even though cell voltage is still healthy. Remove and clean the filter, then retest. If suction holds after a clean filter, the battery was never the problem.

The RH9159WO motor cuts out suddenly during use, then starts again after I set the vacuum down for a minute — is this a faulty battery?

That cut-and-recover pattern is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not a cell failure. It disconnects output when the motor draws past the rated threshold — usually because airflow is restricted — and resets once it cools. Check the filter and the brush roll for blockages. If the fault disappears after clearing the restriction, the pack is working as it should.

My replacement battery charges fully but the vacuum runs noticeably less than the original used to — why?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. Restricted airflow makes the motor work harder than rated, draining the pack faster than normal operating conditions would. A replacement cell at 3400mAh should match original runtime closely on an unrestricted machine. Clean the filter, clear the brush roll, then run a full discharge cycle — if runtime normalises, the issue was always the filter draw, not the battery capacity.
