Fits Aesculap GT651 cordless clipper, replaces OEM battery part numbers 160301, 160302, and GT650120.
10.8V lithium-ion at 2350mAh delivers full motor torque through a full grooming session without sag.
Slide-lock connector seats horizontally into the clipper grip with a spring-loaded retention tab.
Bench testing showed stable voltage under motor load; BMS cutoff triggered at safe discharge threshold.
On first charge with the GT651 dock, insert the battery fully and wait for the green indicator — the charger requires a complete seating cycle to recognize the new BMS before accepting charge current.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aesculap GT651 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (160301)

This is a 10.8V, 2350mAh Li-ion battery for the Aesculap GT651 cordless hair clipper. It replaces OEM part numbers 160301, 160302, and GT650120. When the original cell can no longer hold a charge, this unit restores the clipper to working condition.

  • GT651 platform fit: The GT651 uses a fixed 10.8V Li-ion cell pack with a dedicated BMS handshake. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector configuration so the clipper's charge indicator and protection circuits function normally.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the GT651 platform. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination and low-voltage cutoff — no false fault codes, no premature shutdowns.
  • Port drying before charging: The GT651 is used in wet salon environments. Before connecting the charger, dry the charging port completely. Moisture bridging the charging contacts triggers a BMS protection trip that the device reports as a dead battery — not a charging error.

Motor speed dropping on the GT651 before the low-battery indicator activates

As a Li-ion cell ages, its internal resistance rises. Under the GT651 motor's load, that resistance causes voltage to sag before the cell's stored charge is actually depleted. The BMS reads this sag as a low-voltage event and throttles output — the motor slows even though the indicator hasn't reached empty. A new cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag and restores consistent motor speed across the full discharge cycle.

GT651 not charging after cleaning product exposure on the dock contacts

Salon cleaning sprays leave a residue on the dock's charging contacts that oxidises over time. Oxidised contacts increase resistance at the charge interface, and the battery receives too little current to trigger a proper charge cycle — the clipper sits in the dock and never charges. This is not a battery fault. Clean the dock contacts with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab, let them dry fully, then reseat the clipper. If charging resumes, the battery was never the problem.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GT651 motor starts slowing down well before the battery indicator hits empty — is the battery failing or is something else wrong?

This is voltage sag under motor load, not a faulty indicator. As a Li-ion cell's internal resistance increases with age, the voltage drops under the clipper motor's draw even when charge remains in the cell. The BMS interprets that sag as a low-voltage condition and reduces power before the indicator catches up. Replacing the cell restores the voltage headroom and the motor runs at full speed through the proper discharge range.

The GT651 went through a rinse cycle and now won't charge at all — did the water kill the battery?

Water exposure most often trips the BMS protection circuit rather than destroying the cell itself. Moisture bridging the charging contacts causes a fault the device reports as a dead battery, not a charging error. Dry the charging port and dock contacts thoroughly — leave the unit unpowered in a dry environment for several hours. Once dry, reconnect the charger; if the charging indicator activates, the BMS has reset and the cell is intact.

The GT651 gets noticeably warm during a long grooming session — is that a battery problem or a motor problem?

Both the motor and the discharging Li-ion cell generate heat, and the GT651's compact housing has limited thermal mass to absorb it. Warmth during extended use is normal within limits. If the unit becomes hot to the touch or shuts off abruptly, the BMS is triggering a thermal cutoff — this accelerates with an aged cell that discharges less efficiently. Check the cell's resting voltage after cooling; if it reads below 9.5V after a full charge, the cell is degraded and replacement is the correct fix.
