Fits Wahl Detailer Cordless Trimmer, replaces OEM part 3024976 and 93838-101.
3.7V, 1500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full motor torque on cordless trimmers without voltage sag.
Connector seats flush into trimmer battery slot with positive terminal alignment — no adapter needed.
We bench-tested the cell at full discharge load; BMS cutoff occurred at 2.8V with clean ramp.
On first insertion into the trimmer, the motor may run slightly slower until the BMS calibrates to the new cell — this normalizes after two full charge cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wahl Detailer Cordless Trimmer — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (3024976)

This 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part 3024976 in the Wahl Detailer Cordless Trimmer. It fits the compact battery bay directly and connects to the same BMS circuit the original cell uses. Voltage and capacity match the factory spec — 3.7V nominal, 5.55Wh total.

  • Detailer Cordless Trimmer fit: The trimmer runs a single-cell 3.7V architecture with a fixed connector pinout. Any cell swap has to match that pinout and the BMS handshake thresholds — this cell does both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Detailer's charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge correctly, hit full cutoff at 4.2V, and discharged without triggering a premature low-voltage trip.
  • Trimmer-specific storage note: If you store the trimmer between haircuts for several weeks, leave the cell at roughly 50% charge rather than full. A fully charged Li-ion cell sitting idle accelerates capacity loss faster than one held at mid-state.

Motor speed dropping before the low-battery indicator activates

The Detailer's motor draws a short current spike on each cutting stroke. As a Li-ion cell ages, its internal resistance rises. Higher resistance means voltage sags sharply under that load spike — the motor slows noticeably even though the indicator hasn't reached the low threshold yet. The indicator reads resting voltage, not loaded voltage, so it lags behind what the motor actually sees. Replacing the cell resets internal resistance to factory levels and restores consistent blade speed through the full discharge cycle.

Trimmer not charging after exposure to moisture near the charging port

Water or cleaning product residue bridging the charging contacts causes the BMS to trip its protection circuit. The device then reports a dead or non-responsive battery when the actual fault is a latched BMS state, not cell failure. Dry the port completely — compressed air works well — then let it sit for 30 minutes before reconnecting the charger. If the BMS doesn't reset after a clean dry connection, confirm the charger is delivering 5V at the port before concluding the cell itself has failed.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wahl Detailer trimmer cuts fine at the start but the blade slows down halfway through before the battery light even flickers — what's happening?

That's voltage sag under motor load, not a low-capacity problem. As the cell ages, internal resistance rises and the voltage drops sharply during each cutting stroke — the blade slows while the indicator still reads mid-charge because the indicator measures resting voltage, not loaded voltage. A fresh cell with low internal resistance holds voltage steady under the same load. Swap the cell and the speed drop disappears.

My trimmer stopped charging after I cleaned it near the sink — the light won't come on at all now. Is the battery dead?

Most likely the BMS tripped a protection fault from moisture bridging the charging contacts, not a failed cell. Dry the charging port thoroughly with compressed air and leave it for 30 minutes before reconnecting the charger. If it still won't charge, confirm the charger is outputting 5V at the port using a multimeter — a fault charger shows the same symptom. Only replace the cell if the port is clean and dry and the charger tests good.

I charge my Wahl Detailer every day after a short use and now it barely holds a charge — did I get a faulty battery?

Daily shallow cycling is the most common cause of early capacity fade in single-cell Li-ion devices like this trimmer. Charging from 80% back to 100% every day counts as a partial cycle, and repeated high-state cycling degrades the cell faster than full discharge cycles do. The indicator drifts as the cell's usable range narrows, making the battery appear to drain instantly. Replace the cell and let it discharge further before recharging — aim to drop below 30% before plugging in.
