Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aetep AT110 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (JQ050-04L)
This 7.4V 5000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the JQ050-04L pack in the Aetep AT110 surveying and testing instrument. It fits the AT110 directly and matches the original voltage rail and connector configuration. Capacity is 5000mAh (37Wh), sourced to match the original cell specification.
- AT110 platform compatibility: The AT110 uses a single battery bay with a dedicated BMS handshake line. This pack carries the correct cell configuration and protection circuit to satisfy that handshake — without it, the instrument throws a battery fault and will not boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the AT110 platform, including probe initialisation loads. The BMS held stable through the inrush current spike at sensor power-up, which is where weaker packs trip the protection circuit.
- Pre-deployment calibration cycle: After installing this pack, run a full calibration sequence through the AT110 instrument menu before heading into the field. The instrument maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes the low-battery indicator to trigger early on the first measurement session, even with a full charge.
BMS cutoff when the AT110 initialises its probe or sensor module
When the AT110 powers up a connected probe, the instrument draws a short inrush current to initialise the sensor module. This spike can exceed the overcurrent threshold on worn or mismatched packs, triggering the BMS to cut output before the measurement session starts. The JQ050-04L replacement uses a protection circuit rated to handle this initialisation load without tripping. If the instrument still cuts out at probe power-up, check that the battery contacts are clean and seating fully — poor contact raises effective impedance and worsens the spike.
AT110 display showing erratic battery percentage after pack swap
The AT110 reads battery state by tracking voltage thresholds, not a dedicated fuel gauge IC. A new pack with a different cell chemistry profile will cause the percentage indicator to jump or read incorrectly until the instrument has logged a complete charge-discharge cycle. This is not a fault with the battery — it is the instrument recalibrating its internal voltage map to the new cells. Run the instrument through one full discharge to below 7.6V under normal field load, then charge fully, and the percentage readout will stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions
My AT110 shuts itself off the moment I connect a probe — battery shows full charge, what's happening?
The probe module draws a sharp current spike at initialisation, and if the pack's protection circuit has a low overcurrent threshold, it trips before the probe finishes powering up. This is a BMS cutoff, not a charge issue — the battery reads full because it never actually discharged. Clean the battery contacts first, then seat the pack firmly and retry. If the shutdown persists with a new pack, check whether the probe connector pins are oxidised, as added resistance amplifies the spike.
The AT110 won't power on at all after sitting unused in the carry case for several months — is the pack dead?
Extended storage below roughly 3.0V per cell pushes the BMS into sleep mode as a protection state, and the instrument cannot wake it through normal power-on. Connect the battery to a charger and look for an initial charge acceptance — most chargers will show a trickle or pre-charge LED within the first few minutes. If the charger accepts the pack and voltage recovers to at least 7.0V within 30 minutes of trickle charging, the cells are recoverable. Leave it on a full charge cycle before reinstalling.
Readings on the AT110 start drifting and the instrument resets mid-logging session, but the battery percentage still looks fine — what causes this?
Sustained sensor load during a logging session draws continuous current that causes voltage to sag below the AT110's operating threshold, even when the displayed percentage has not caught up yet. The instrument resets to protect the measurement circuit from undervoltage, not because the pack is empty. This is more likely with an aged original pack where internal resistance has increased — a replacement pack with fresh cells will hold the voltage rail stable under that sustained draw. If it happens with a new pack, check that the instrument firmware is current, as some AT110 revisions have updated the voltage floor setting.
