Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Therm-IC Heated Gloves — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (T46-0900-001)
This 3.7V, 3600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the T46-0900-001 cell in Therm-IC heated gloves. It powers the resistive heating elements built into the glove lining. When the original cell can no longer hold a charge or fails to reach full heat output, this is the direct replacement.
- Therm-IC heated glove fit: These gloves use a compact single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.7V nominal. The T46-0900-001 part number ties the battery to a specific connector, physical form factor, and BMS handshake — swapping to a mismatched cell will either fail to register or disable heating entirely.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through low, medium, and maximum heat settings while monitoring the BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit held within spec across all three draw levels, with no unexpected shutdowns during sustained high-setting runs.
- Cold-weather storage between sessions: Li-ion cells stored at full charge in sub-zero conditions accelerate cathode stress. Store this pack at roughly 50% charge when the gloves won't be used for more than a week in cold environments — a full charge left idle in freezing temperatures shortens cell life faster than normal cycling.
Why Therm-IC gloves cut out mid-use on the highest heat setting
Maximum heat draws sustained high current through the resistive elements — significantly more than medium or low settings. If the cell voltage sags under that load and drops below the BMS cutoff threshold, the protection circuit shuts the output down before the cell is actually empty. An aged or cold cell hits that sag point much earlier in the discharge curve. A fresh, fully charged cell at 3.7V nominal gives the BMS enough headroom to sustain max output without tripping.
Gloves charge fully but won't reach maximum heat level
This is a different fault from mid-use cutout. Here, the cell holds a surface charge but its actual deliverable capacity has degraded — it reads full on the indicator but can't supply the current the highest heat setting demands. The BMS throttles output rather than shut off completely, so the glove stays warm but never gets hot. Check resting voltage after a full charge with a multimeter: a healthy cell should read 4.1–4.2V. Anything consistently below 4.0V after a full charge cycle means the cell needs replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Therm-IC gloves run noticeably shorter on high heat than on low — is something wrong with the new battery?
Nothing is wrong. The high heat setting draws roughly three to four times more current than the low setting, so the cell depletes faster under that load — this is normal Li-ion behaviour, not a fault. The 3600mAh capacity is fixed; higher current draw simply moves through it quicker. If heat time on low feels normal but high feels drastically short, confirm the cell is reaching 4.1–4.2V after a full charge before assuming a defect.
My Therm-IC gloves give much less heat time in very cold weather than they do indoors — why?
Li-ion cells lose deliverable capacity as temperature drops. At or below freezing, a 3600mAh cell may only deliver 70–80% of its rated capacity because the electrolyte becomes less conductive in the cold. Keeping the battery pack tucked against your wrist or inside a sleeve layer rather than exposed to open air significantly reduces this effect. If heat time recovers when you're back indoors and warm the gloves up first, cold-induced capacity reduction is the cause — not a faulty cell.
The Therm-IC gloves worked fine, then stopped heating mid-session and won't restart — what triggered that?
The BMS protection circuit tripped, most likely from sustained maximum current draw pushing cell voltage below its cutoff threshold. This is a safety shutdown, not permanent damage. Remove the battery, let it sit at room temperature for five minutes, then reinsert and start on a lower heat setting. If the gloves restart on low or medium but cut out again only on maximum, the cell voltage is sagging under peak load — charge fully to 4.2V before the next high-setting session.
