Fits Albrecht AE900 cordless phone handsets and replaces OEM battery reference for this model.
3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH cell delivers standard talk time and standby runtime for DECT handset operation.
Battery slides into handset compartment with single-pin connector; locking tab secures pack flush against spring contact.
We bench-tested this cell in an AE900 handset; BMS acceptance was clean on first charge cycle with base station recognition immediate.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries need slow initial charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Albrecht AE900 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Albrecht AE900 cordless DECT phone handset. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores power to the phone for voice calls. No OEM part number is published for this cell, but the voltage, capacity, and physical dimensions match the original specification.

  • AE900 handset fit: The AE900 runs a single 3.6V Ni-MH cell stack. This pack matches that voltage rail and the physical footprint — 42.40 × 49.90 × 14.40mm — so it seats correctly in the battery bay and makes clean contact with the charging pins.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH test rig. The BMS accepted charge current without interruption and held voltage steady across the full discharge curve without premature cutoff.
  • First-charge conditioning on the AE900: Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before making any calls. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial-charge state will not reach rated capacity until they complete a slow, uninterrupted first charge — skipping this step permanently reduces available capacity.

Base station showing no charge or error light on a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the pack voltage drops low enough, the AE900 base station's charge circuit may not recognise it as a valid battery and will refuse to begin charging. This is a threshold protection built into the base — not a fault with the battery itself. To recover the pack, leave the handset seated in the base for at least 30 minutes without removing it. Most base stations will trickle enough current to bring the cell voltage up to the acceptance threshold and then switch to normal charge mode.

Talk time shorter than expected after the first few charges

Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first charge cycle. Expect reduced talk time for the first three to five full charge-and-use cycles — this is normal electrochemical conditioning, not a defective battery. Each cycle allows the cell chemistry to stabilise and the capacity to build toward the rated 1200mAh. If talk time is still noticeably short after five full cycles, check that the handset is fully seated flat in the base between uses, as a partial contact on the charge pins will produce an incomplete charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AE900 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing power from a DECT handset clears the stored pairing in some phone models, including the AE900. The handset needs to re-register with the base from scratch. Put the handset in the base to charge, then use the registration function — typically held on the base unit itself — to re-pair the handset. Check the AE900 manual for the exact key sequence, but the base button is usually held for three to five seconds until the handset confirms registration.

The AE900 handset is losing range compared to before the battery swap — what's causing that?

Reduced range after a battery swap is almost always a voltage sag issue under RF load. The DECT transmitter in the handset draws a short burst of current each time it sends a signal to the base — if the battery voltage dips during that burst, the transmitter power drops and range suffers. This usually happens in the first few cycles before the Ni-MH pack is fully conditioned. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles and check whether range recovers. If it does not, confirm the battery contacts in the handset bay are clean and making firm contact with the pack terminals.

The AE900 battery drains overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

A battery draining overnight in the base almost always means the handset is not making full contact with the charging pins. Check that the handset sits flush and does not rock in the cradle — even a slight tilt can break the charge circuit. The base should show a charging indicator when contact is correct. If the indicator lights and the battery still drains, check the base power adapter is delivering the correct voltage to the cradle rather than replacing the battery.
