Fits Alcatel One Touch Link Y800 and Y800Z models, replacing OEM part CAB23V0000C1.
3.7V, 1750mAh capacity — delivers full power output for the Y800's combined cellular and Wi-Fi radio demand.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with single locking tab; orientation marked on the housing.
Bench testing on Y800 hardware showed the BMS accepted charge immediately; no fault cycles on the Alcatel platform.
On first insertion, power cycle the hotspot twice before connecting multiple devices — the Y800 modem needs to reinitialize the battery voltage rail after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel One Touch Link Y800 / Y800Z — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB23V0000C1)

This 3.7V, 1750mAh (6.48Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original CAB23V0000C1 cell in the Alcatel One Touch Link Y800 and Y800Z mobile hotspot. It fits the One Touch Y800 and Y800Z variants as well. When the original cell degrades and the hotspot can no longer hold a charge through a full work session, this is the direct swap.

  • Y800 and Y800Z compatibility: Both the Y800 and Y800Z use the same 3.7V cell, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one battery covers all variants in this family without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on the Y800 platform. The BMS accepted charge cleanly, reported accurate state-of-charge to the firmware, and held the modem and Wi-Fi radio active simultaneously without a protection trip.
  • Cellular radio heat management: Keep the hotspot in a ventilated spot during long sessions. When connected devices are at range limits, the cellular radio runs at peak output power continuously — this pushes heat directly into the battery cavity and accelerates cell wear over time.

Hotspot disconnecting users mid-session on a new battery

The Y800 draws current from two radios at once — the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi access point. At maximum connected devices, combined draw spikes sharply, causing a momentary voltage sag. If that sag crosses the BMS undervoltage threshold, the battery protection circuit trips and the unit drops off. This is not a faulty battery — it is the BMS doing its job under a heavier-than-usual load pulse. Reduce the number of simultaneous connected devices or move the hotspot closer to the cellular tower to lower modem output power and reduce sag depth.

Y800 won't power on after sitting unused for weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the Y800 sat long enough, the cell voltage dropped below the minimum boot threshold — typically around 3.0V — and the device cannot initialise. The BMS locks out discharge at this point to prevent cell damage. Connect the hotspot to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the charger delivers a trickle current that nudges the cell back above the boot voltage threshold and allows the BMS to re-enable the output.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Y800 hotspot shows a full battery but drops all connected devices every few minutes — what's happening?

This is voltage sag under combined load, not a capacity issue. The cellular modem and Wi-Fi radio both draw current simultaneously, and when multiple devices are connected, the combined spike pulls voltage down briefly — enough for the BMS to trip the output protection. The hotspot reboots, and the battery reads full again because the sag was momentary. Limit connected devices to three or fewer, or move the hotspot closer to a cell tower to reduce modem transmit power and flatten the draw spike.

The Y800 battery drains much faster than it used to even with the same number of devices connected — what causes that?

Poor cellular signal is the most common cause. When the Y800 is in a weak signal area, the modem runs at maximum transmit power continuously trying to maintain the data connection — this is a sustained high-draw state that empties the 1750mAh cell significantly faster than in a strong-signal environment. Multiple connected devices compound the drain. Move the hotspot to a window or higher position to improve signal reception; even a one-bar improvement drops modem output power and noticeably extends the charge cycle.

The Y800 gets warm during long sessions — is the battery being damaged?

Heat comes primarily from the cellular radio, not the battery itself, but the battery sits directly in that heat path. Sustained temperatures above 40°C accelerate electrolyte degradation inside the Li-ion cell, permanently reducing capacity over repeated sessions. The fix is airflow — don't leave the hotspot face-down on a desk or inside a bag while active. Set it upright or prop it so air can move across the back panel, especially during sessions longer than two hours.
