Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel OT-5005R / OT-5033 Series — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi019DA)
The TLi019DA is a 3.85V, 1850mAh (7.12Wh) Li-ion cell that fits the Alcatel OT-5005R and OT-5033 series smartphones. It slots into phones that have lost capacity due to cell aging or physical swelling. Voltage and connector match the original spec exactly.
- OT-5005R and OT-5033 platform fit: The OT-5005R, OT-5033A, OT-5033D, and OT-5033J all share the same 3.85V voltage rail, physical footprint (87.50 × 35.00 × 4.50mm), and connector pinout — which is why one cell covers the full range. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across these variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the OT-5033 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering an over-voltage fault, and the fuel gauge IC began tracking state-of-charge correctly after one full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell. Skip this step and the OS percentage readout will drift.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OT-5005R after cell replacement
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the modem fires a transmission burst or the screen brightness spikes, the new cell's actual voltage drops briefly below what the OS expects at that state-of-charge. The phone reads this as a critically low voltage event and shuts down as a protection measure. One full discharge-charge cycle — no fast charging — gives the coulomb counter enough data to remap the curve to the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% should stop.
Phone warm near the battery during the first charge after installation
A fresh cell arrives with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC pushes current into this higher-resistance cell, and some energy converts to heat rather than stored charge. This is normal for the first one or two cycles and not a fault condition. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold — above roughly 45°C — disconnect the charger, let it cool to room temperature, then resume charging at a lower current by using a standard 5W charger rather than a fast charger.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Alcatel OT-5005R won't power on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead?
The BMS locks out the cell when voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell during long storage. Connect the phone to a low-current charger — a basic 5W USB adapter, not a fast charger — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before pressing the power button. The BMS needs a trickle current to exit lockout before it will allow normal charging or startup.
The battery percentage on my OT-5033 jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then suddenly drops to 15%
The fuel gauge IC is running a state-of-charge map built around the old cell's discharge curve. A new cell has a different voltage-to-capacity profile, so the IC loses track under load. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. This gives the coulomb counter the full-range data it needs to remap accurately.
Fast charging stopped working on my OT-5005R after I fitted the replacement TLi019DA — it only charges slowly now
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake can be rejected by the BMS until it has completed one standard charge cycle. Charge once at standard speed (5W) to 100%, then discharge normally and charge again — fast charging typically resumes from the second cycle onward. If it still does not activate, check that the cable supports fast charge, as a standard USB cable will cap current regardless of the charger.
