Fits Alcatel OT-2038X smartphone; replaces OEM part TLI009AA battery pack.
This 3.7V, 950mAh cell restores full talk and standby time on the OT-2038X after the original pack fails to hold charge or powers down prematurely.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment behind the back cover; no locking tab, straight friction fit against the spring contacts.
We bench-tested the cell on a discharged OT-2038X unit; the BMS accepted the pack immediately and pulled current without voltage sag or early cutoff during a full charge cycle.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without plugging into fast charging — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before the charging circuit engages.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel OT-2038X / OT-3025 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLI009AA)

This is a 3.7V, 950mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the TLI009AA battery in the Alcatel OT-2038X, OT-2053D, OT-2053X, OT-3025, and four additional compatible models. It restores power to devices that no longer hold a charge or fail to power on. Voltage and capacity match the original specification exactly.

  • Multi-model fit — OT-2038X through OT-3025: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, physical footprint (53.20 × 34.00 × 4.60mm), and connector pinout. The BMS handshake uses the same communication line, so one cell covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the OT-2038X platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and low-voltage cutoff engaged at the expected threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — it prevents erratic percentage readings from the first hour of use.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OT-2038X after cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop under load — when the modem or screen draws current, the cell voltage collapses below the cutoff threshold faster than the IC expects. The OS reads 25% but the actual cell voltage has already hit the shutdown floor. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and aligns the reported percentage with real cell voltage.

Phone will not power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage — the phone shows nothing when you press the power button. Connect it to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. Most BMS circuits will accept a trickle charge at that point and exit lockout once the cell climbs back above 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alcatel OT-2038X percentage jumps from 40% straight to 15% and then the phone dies — is the new battery faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the OT-2038X was calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve, and the new TLI009AA cell has a different voltage-versus-capacity profile. The IC misreads the voltage cliff as a sudden drop in charge. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — after that single cycle the coulomb counter realigns and the percentage readout stabilises.

The phone feels warm near the battery for the first 10–15 minutes of charging after I fitted the replacement cell — should I stop charging?

This is normal on the first few charge cycles. A new high-impedance cell has slightly more internal resistance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a small amount of extra heat as it pushes current in. As long as the device is not hot to the touch — just warm — this settles after two or three full cycles. If it stays hot past the first 15 minutes or the phone shuts down mid-charge, stop and check the connector is fully seated.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my OT-2038X — it only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new TLI009AA sometimes does not negotiate the fast-charge handshake correctly because it has no charge history yet. Charge the phone to 100% using the original wall adapter, let it sit on charge for five minutes past the 100% notification, then unplug and reboot the device. On the next charge cycle the BMS handshake with the charge IC typically restores full charge current.
