This is a 2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Alcatel Versatis 50, 150, 250, and 350 cordless DECT handsets. It slots directly into the handset battery compartment and restores power to a phone that no longer holds charge. Dimensions are 45 x 21 x 10mm, matching the original cell geometry.

NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. A new pack in a Versatis handset will feel weak for the first few days of normal use — this is chemistry, not a faulty cell. Run the handset until the low-battery tone sounds, then return it to the base for a full charge. Repeat this three to five times and talk time will stabilise at the full 600mAh level.

Base station shows no charge or flashes an error light on a new pack

NiMH cells stored before sale can drop to a voltage level that the Versatis base station's charge controller reads as a fault condition rather than a dischargeable pack. The base expects to see a cell above roughly 1.8V total before it enters normal charge mode. If the charge LED flashes or stays off, remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly — this re-triggers the charge detect cycle. If the error persists, a short trickle charge using a standalone NiMH charger at 60mA for 30 minutes is enough to lift the pack voltage above the base station's acceptance threshold.
