Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LeapFrog LF2423 Video Baby Monitor — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.8V, 2100mAh Li-ion battery fits the parent unit of the LeapFrog LF2423 Video Baby Monitor. It replaces the original cell when the unit can no longer hold a charge long enough for overnight or extended monitoring. Voltage and physical dimensions match the original: 62.30 × 50.50 × 5.50mm.
- LF2423 parent unit fit: The LF2423 parent unit runs a 3.8V single-cell Li-ion architecture. This battery matches that voltage rail and the original connector orientation, so no adapter or modification is needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the LF2423 parent unit BMS. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and accepted a full charge without fault flags.
- Wireless re-pair after swap: The LF2423 loses its camera link when the parent unit drops to zero power. After fitting the new battery, hold the pair button on both units until the camera feed reappears on the parent screen — this is a normal reset step, not a fault.
Parent unit screen staying on overnight and killing the battery
The LF2423 parent unit screen draws significant current when left on continuously through the night. With the backlight active, the 2100mAh cell depletes faster than most users expect. The monitor's screen timeout setting is off by default from the factory. Go into the display settings menu and set the screen to turn off after one minute of inactivity — audio and alerts stay active.
Range dropping noticeably after fitting a new battery
The LF2423's wireless radio output is voltage-sensitive. A freshly installed battery that has not been fully charged yet will show reduced transmission range because the radio operates below its nominal power level. This is not a pairing fault or a defective unit. Charge the parent unit to 100% before testing range — the radio stabilises at full cell voltage, typically 4.2V at capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions
My LF2423 parent unit won't connect to the camera after I put in the new battery — is something broken?
Nothing is broken. The LF2423 parent unit loses its stored camera pairing data when the battery drops to zero, which happens during a swap. Hold the sync/pair button on the camera unit first, then on the parent unit, until the LED flashes and the video feed appears. The process takes under 30 seconds.
The night vision on my LF2423 stopped working after the battery replacement — the screen just shows a dark image.
The IR LEDs that power night vision on the LF2423 camera require the parent unit to be operating at stable voltage. If the new battery hasn't been fully charged yet, the system may not supply enough power to activate the IR array. Charge the parent unit fully — to 4.2V — before testing night vision again. If the problem persists after a full charge, re-pair the units as the camera link may not have fully re-established.
The battery on my LF2423 parent unit drains completely by morning even though the camera unit is fine.
Overnight drain on the LF2423 is almost always caused by the parent unit screen staying on all night. The backlight is a sustained high draw on a 2100mAh cell. Open the display settings on the parent unit and enable the screen timeout — set it to one minute. Audio monitoring and motion alerts continue to function with the screen off.
