Fits Aligator V500, V550, A420 smartphones; replaces OEM battery CS-EAC145XL.
3.7V, 900mAh lithium-ion cell restores full-day runtime to aging V500 devices after original pack degrades.
Connector slides straight into battery slot; locking tab seats flush with device frame without tools.
We bench-tested this cell on V500 discharge cycles; BMS accepted charge current cleanly on first insertion.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to recalibrate the fuel gauge IC against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aligator V500 / V550 / A420 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell for the Aligator V500, V550, and A420 smartphones. It replaces the original factory cell when capacity has faded to the point where the phone no longer holds charge through a normal day. Physical dimensions are 46.47 × 39.79 × 5.33mm — confirm these against your existing cell before fitting.

  • V500, V550, and A420 cell compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay geometry and 3.7V single-cell architecture. The connector pinout and cell footprint are identical across the group, so one replacement cell covers all three.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench and monitored BMS cutoff behaviour. The protection circuit held the low-voltage cutoff correctly and did not trigger premature shutoff under steady load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after fitting: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutoff before recharging to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC one full reference cycle against the new cell's actual discharge curve before the OS starts reporting percentage to the screen.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the V500 after a cell swap

The V500's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell with a different internal impedance profile hits a voltage cliff at a different state of charge than the IC expects. When the modem or screen pulls a short high-current burst, the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the reported percentage reads 25–30%. The fix is one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a full charge — this lets the coulomb counter reset its endpoints against the real cell. After that cycle, the reported percentage and actual cutoff voltage align correctly.

Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS latches into lockout mode to prevent damage. The phone will show no response at all — no boot logo, no charge indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger rather than a PC USB port, which supplies lower current. Leave it connected for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on; the charger IC needs enough headroom above the lockout threshold to wake the BMS and begin a trickle pre-charge back to 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Aligator V500 shuts off at around 25% battery — why does this keep happening with the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the V500 is still running a discharge curve calibrated to your old, degraded cell. The new cell hits its BMS voltage cutoff at a different point than the IC predicts, so the phone cuts out before the reported percentage reaches zero. Run one complete discharge — let the phone shut itself off automatically — then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage reading and the actual cutoff point will match.

The battery percentage on my V500 jumps around erratically after fitting the replacement — is the new cell faulty?

It is not faulty. The coulomb counter inside the phone has lost its reference endpoints because the old cell's capacity was significantly different from the new one. The IC is interpolating percentage from incomplete data, which causes the reading to jump. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a full charge to 100% resets the counter's endpoints. After that cycle the percentage stabilises and tracks accurately through normal use.

My V500 feels warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell arrives with higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several cycles. During the first few charges, the charge IC pushes current into a higher-resistance cell, which converts more energy to heat than usual. The warmth drops noticeably after three to five full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than just warm, disconnect it and check that the battery contacts are fully seated flat against the connector.
