Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TeXet TM-D222 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TM-D222)
This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the TeXet TM-D222 smartphone. It fits directly into the TM-D222 handset and restores power to calling, messaging, and basic smartphone functions. Capacity figures are taken from product data: 900mAh / 3.33Wh.
- TM-D222 fitment: The TM-D222 uses a compact 3.7V single-cell Li-ion pack with a specific connector pinout and BMS handshake tied to the phone's charge IC. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector geometry so the charge controller recognises the cell correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the TM-D222 platform. The BMS communicated cleanly with the phone's charge IC, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff without locking the handset into a boot loop.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins — skipping this step causes the percentage counter to read inaccurately for the first several cycles.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TM-D222 after a cell swap
The TM-D222's modem and display draw a combined current spike that the fuel gauge IC cannot always predict on a fresh cell. When the phone's coulomb counter is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell curve, it overestimates remaining capacity. The new cell hits its voltage cliff under load before the OS expects it, and the phone shuts off to protect the battery. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging resets the fuel gauge IC's reference curve and eliminates most premature shutdowns.
Phone not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells in storage self-discharge slowly. If the replacement battery drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS trips into lockout mode and blocks current flow to prevent cell damage. The TM-D222 will show no response — no boot screen, no charge indicator. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes; most BMS circuits re-initialise once the charge IC pushes a trickle current above the 2.5V threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TeXet TM-D222 percentage jumps around after I put in the new battery — is the battery faulty?
The fuel gauge IC inside the TM-D222 stores a discharge curve learned from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches the actual cell behaviour, so the percentage reading jumps erratically. This is a calibration issue, not a fault with the battery itself. Run one full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge back to 100% without interruption — the fuel gauge IC will remap against the new cell after that cycle.
The TM-D222 feels warm near the battery area during the first few charges — is that normal?
A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled several times. The charge IC on the TM-D222 pushes current into that higher-impedance cell, and the extra resistance generates mild heat. This typically settles after three to five charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops toward its operating baseline. If the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than just warm, disconnect it from charge and check that the battery connector is fully seated.
Fast charging stopped working on my TM-D222 after I swapped the battery — what changed?
The TM-D222's charge controller negotiates a fast-charge handshake on the first cycle after a new cell is detected. Some replacement BMS circuits respond to that handshake only after the cell reaches a minimum state of charge — typically above 20%. If fast charging is not engaging, charge the phone to above 20% on a standard 5V charger first, then disconnect and reconnect the charger; the charge IC will reattempt the fast-charge negotiation at that point.
