Fits Amazfit ARES and A1908 smartwatch models using OEM part number PL402120T.
3.8V, 200mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the energy density required for multi-day fitness tracking and continuous heart rate monitoring on this wearable platform.
Connector is a two-pin JST-PH micro plug with 2.0mm pitch; orientation marked on the housing — verify polarity before seating fully into the watch battery slot.
We ran full charge cycles on a test unit — the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and held voltage flat through a 48-hour wear test cycle.
After fitting the new cell, place the watch on its charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use — the fuel gauge IC cannot calibrate without a full charge cycle from near-zero after a cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazfit ARES / A1908 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PL402120T)

This is a 3.8V, 200mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Amazfit ARES smartwatch (model A1908). It replaces the original PL402120T cell that powers the watch's fitness tracking, heart rate monitoring, and notification functions. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge between sessions.

  • ARES / A1908 compatibility: Both model names refer to the same hardware platform. The ARES shares its chassis, connector, and BMS handshake with the A1908 designation — one cell fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle on the ARES platform. The fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell, BMS protection thresholds triggered correctly at low voltage, and charge termination cut off at the expected 4.35V ceiling.
  • Post-swap charging requirement: After fitting the new cell, place the watch on its charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use. The fuel gauge IC on this platform cannot calibrate its reference point without a full charge cycle from near-zero following a cell swap — skipping this step causes the percentage readout to report inaccurate figures for days.

Why the ARES fuel gauge shows a random percentage after a cell swap

The ARES uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by measuring current in and out of the cell. When you remove the old cell, the IC loses its reference entirely. It wakes up with the new cell at an unknown state of charge and guesses. The fix is a full uninterrupted charge to 100% immediately after reassembly — this resets the IC's full-charge reference point. Until that cycle completes, any percentage shown on screen is not accurate.

Magnetic charger not making contact after reassembly

If the watch sits on its magnetic charger but the charging icon never appears, the charge contacts on the case back have likely shifted slightly during reassembly. Remove the watch from the charger, check that the rear cover is fully seated and flush with the case, then re-place it on the charger with the alignment pins centred. If the icon still does not appear, clean the contacts on both the watch and charger with a dry cloth — oxidation on the gold pads breaks the circuit before any current flows.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Amazfit ARES shows 0% and won't turn on right after fitting the new battery — did I get a dead cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. When the original battery is removed, the fuel gauge IC loses its charge reference completely and the watch can refuse to boot until it has enough voltage to initialise. Place it on the magnetic charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — the IC needs to see a rising voltage curve before it will release the boot sequence. If the watch powers on during that charge, leave it to reach 100% before unplugging.

The new battery is draining in a single day — my old one lasted several days even when degraded. What's wrong?

A 200mAh cell on the ARES is genuinely small, and always-on display combined with continuous heart rate monitoring can pull the cell down fast. Check the watch settings and turn off always-on display and set heart rate monitoring to periodic (every 10 minutes) rather than continuous. GPS session logging is the other major draw — each active GPS session pulls significantly more current than the watch consumes in a full day of passive tracking. With those three settings adjusted, multi-day use is achievable on this cell capacity.

The ARES won't pair with my phone after the battery swap — Bluetooth shows it's searching but never connects.

Removing the battery terminates any active BLE session and the phone retains a stale device record. On your phone, go into Bluetooth settings, find the Amazfit ARES entry, and tap "Forget this device." Then open the Zepp app, remove the watch from your device list, and run a fresh pairing from scratch. The watch needs to be fully powered on and sitting at the home screen — not mid-boot — before the phone will complete the BLE handshake.
