Replaces Amazfit POP, Bip U, A2009, A2017 smartwatch batteries with OEM part number PL382222GH.
3.85V, 225mAh Li-Polymer cell powers display, heart rate sensor, and Bluetooth radio on this platform.
Connector is a two-pin SMD pad; polarity marked on watch PCB; no mechanical locking tabs present.
Bench test showed BMS initiated charge at 2.8V; fuel gauge IC synced after reaching 100% state.
After fitting the new cell, charge the watch to 100% before wearing—the fuel gauge cannot calibrate without a full charge cycle from near-zero after a battery swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazfit POP / Bip U (A2009, A2017) — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PL382222GH)

This is a 3.85V, 225mAh Li-Polymer cell sized at 22.60 × 21.50 × 3.80mm, matching the original PL382222GH specification. It fits the Amazfit POP, Bip U, A2009, and A2017 smartwatches. Replace it when the original cell no longer holds charge through a full day of normal use.

  • POP and Bip U platform fit: Both models share the same chassis dimensions, connector pinout, and fuel gauge IC — so one cell covers the full A2009/A2017 lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Bip U unit. The fuel gauge IC registered the new cell correctly after a full charge from near-zero, and the BMS held the 4.35V charge ceiling without tripping.
  • Post-swap charge requirement: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use. The fuel gauge IC on these Amazfit platforms loses its reference point when the cell is swapped — it cannot recalibrate until it sees a complete charge cycle from near-zero.

Why the Amazfit POP fuel gauge reads incorrectly after a cell swap

The POP and Bip U use a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state relative to a stored reference. Removing the old cell clears that reference entirely. Until the new cell completes one full charge cycle from near-zero to 100%, the IC has no baseline, so percentage readings will jump or read 0% even on a charged cell. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it resolves after the first complete charge.

Watch not pairing to phone after battery replacement

Pulling the battery during a swap ends the active BLE session between the watch and the Zepp app. The phone retains the old pairing record, but the watch has no matching session on boot. Go to Bluetooth settings on your phone, forget the Amazfit device, then re-pair fresh through the Zepp app. Do this after the watch has completed its first full charge to 100%.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Amazfit POP shows 0% and won't turn on right after I put the new battery in — is the cell dead?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the POP loses its charge reference when the old battery is removed, so it boots with no valid state-of-charge data and displays 0%. Place the watch on its charger immediately without pressing any buttons and leave it until the display confirms 100%. After that first full cycle the IC recalibrates and the percentage will read correctly.

New battery fitted but the watch is draining completely within one day instead of the expected several days — what's drawing it down?

Always-on display combined with continuous heart rate monitoring is the most common cause on the Bip U and POP platforms — that combination can pull enough current to flatten a 225mAh cell well inside 24 hours. Go into watch settings and switch heart rate monitoring from continuous to interval mode, and disable always-on display if it's active. If drain persists after those changes, check whether a background app notification sync is keeping the BLE radio awake.

The magnetic charger isn't making contact after I reassembled the watch — the charging icon never appears.

Reassembly often shifts the internal PCB by a fraction of a millimetre, which is enough to misalign the charge contacts against the magnetic pogo pins. Open the case back again and check that the connector is fully seated and the board sits flush before closing. Then place the watch on the charger and confirm the charging icon appears within 10 seconds — if it does, the contact issue is resolved.
