Sale priceFrom $34.99 USD Regular price $43.99
Shipping calculated at checkout.
Fits Amazon S12-T5, S12-T5-A, 58-000067, and 58-000067(1ICP4/59/139) tablet battery slots.
Voltage 3.8V and 3400mAh capacity match OEM spec for full display and processor power draw.
Connector orientation and locking tab align with the tablet's internal battery bay on contact.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion with stable voltage under WiFi load.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazon Fire Tablet — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (S12-T5)

This 3.8V, 3400mAh (12.92Wh) lithium-polymer cell replaces the original S12-T5 battery in Amazon Fire tablets. It fits units using OEM part numbers S12-T5, S12-T5-A, 58-000067, and 58-000067(1ICP4/59/139). Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or fails to power the device.

  • Multi-part-number compatibility: Amazon produced this battery under several OEM codes across production runs — S12-T5, S12-T5-A, and two 58-000067 variants. They share the same 141.90 × 57.90 × 3.00 mm footprint, the same 3.8V nominal rail, and the same connector pinout. This cell fits all of them.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Fire tablet test unit, confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and verified the protection circuit responded correctly to both over-voltage and under-voltage cutoff thresholds.
  • Post-swap fuel gauge reset: After installation, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full reference cycle against the new cell and corrects the inaccurate percentage readings that appear after any battery swap.

Fire tablet shutting down at 15–25% after battery replacement

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a defective cell. Under combined display-on and Wi-Fi load, the tablet's power rail draws enough current to pull the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the percentage gauge reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it reports a higher percentage than the actual remaining energy. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration and eliminates the premature shutdown.

Fast charging unavailable after battery swap

Some Fire tablets use a charge negotiation handshake between the charge IC and the battery's protection circuit. On a freshly installed cell, this handshake may not complete on the first plug-in, so the charger defaults to standard 5V/1A input instead of the higher-rate profile. Plug in the original Amazon charger — third-party adapters may not carry the correct negotiation signal. If fast charge still does not activate after the first full cycle completes, unplug and reconnect; the charge IC re-runs negotiation at each new connection event.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Fire tablet shows 80% battery right after a full charge — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC stored the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell and is applying that calibration to the new one. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff without plugging it in, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle gives the IC a fresh reference curve and corrects the percentage display.

The tablet cuts off at around 20% remaining, but only when the screen brightness is high and Wi-Fi is active at the same time.

High brightness plus active Wi-Fi pulls a combined current load that drops cell voltage sharply — more than either load does alone. The BMS reads that voltage dip as a low-battery cutoff before the percentage gauge reaches zero. Recalibrate the fuel gauge IC first: discharge fully to shutoff, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. If the shutoff point moves below 10% after that cycle, the cell is behaving correctly.

Fast charging worked before I replaced the battery — now the tablet only charges slowly even with the original Amazon charger.

The charge IC re-runs its negotiation handshake at each connection event, but on a new cell it sometimes defaults to standard rate on the first cycle. Let the first full charge complete at the slower rate without interrupting it. On the next plug-in, the IC will renegotiate against the now-calibrated cell. If the fast-charge indicator still does not appear after two full cycles, verify the charger is the original Amazon 9W or 15W adapter — USB-PD negotiation does not fall back correctly on many generic 5V bricks.
