Fits American DJ Mega Go PAR64 RGBA and Jelly Go PAR64 RGBA; replaces OEM Z-MEB236 and 9900005385.
11.1V 7800mAh delivers sustained output for extended location lighting runs without mid-show voltage sag.
Connects via proprietary barrel connector; seat until you hear the latch click to confirm contact.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion; no fault codes, stable discharge curve observed.
Store this pack at 50% charge if the fixture sits unused beyond two weeks — full-charge storage accelerates capacity fade in high-output LED driver cells.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

American DJ Mega Go PAR64 RGBA — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Z-MEB236)

This 11.1V 7800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the American DJ Mega Go PAR64 RGBA and Jelly Go PAR64 RGBA portable LED PAR fixtures. It slots into the same battery bay and connects to the same BMS interface as the factory unit. Capacity is 86.58Wh — identical to the OEM spec.

  • Mega Go and Jelly Go PAR64 RGBA compatibility: Both fixtures run the same 11.1V three-cell Li-ion architecture and share the Z-MEB236 battery format. The connector pinout and BMS handshake are identical across both models, so the same pack serves either light without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the Mega Go PAR64 RGBA LED driver circuit. The BMS held cell balance across all three cells and tripped protection correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold without triggering a false driver fault.
  • Storage charge for event prep: If the fixture won't be used for more than two weeks, store the battery at around 50% charge. Parking a high-capacity 7800mAh Li-ion pack at full charge in a warm flight case accelerates capacity fade across the cell group faster than partial-state storage does.

Why the PAR64 RGBA dims before the low-battery indicator triggers

The LED driver in the Mega Go PAR64 RGBA operates in constant-current mode. As the battery ages and internal resistance rises, voltage sags under the sustained current draw of the RGBA array before the pack's state-of-charge indicator crosses the low threshold. The fixture interprets the voltage sag as insufficient headroom and steps down output to protect the driver circuit. A new pack with lower internal resistance restores the full voltage rail under load, and the dimming stops.

Battery not accepted by the fixture after sitting in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. A pack left uncharged for several months can drop below the BMS acceptance threshold — typically around 9V for an 11.1V three-cell pack — and the fixture will refuse to power on or show no response at the power button. Connect the battery to the charger and leave it for a full charge cycle before reinstalling. If the charger shows no activity, the cells may have dropped below the charger's own acceptance floor; measure across the pack terminals and confirm voltage is above 8.5V before concluding the cells are unrecoverable.

Frequently Asked Questions

The PAR64 RGBA dims noticeably halfway through a set but the battery indicator still shows two bars — what's happening?

This is voltage sag, not a state-of-charge problem. The LED driver demands constant current, and as internal resistance builds in an older pack, the voltage drops under that load before the indicator reflects it. The fixture steps output down to protect the driver circuit. Swap in a fresh pack and confirm the output holds steady at full brightness across the same load duration.

My Mega Go PAR64 RGBA shows no response after I installed the new battery — no power, no LED, nothing.

The most likely cause is that the replacement pack dropped below the BMS acceptance threshold during shipping or storage. Measure the voltage across the battery terminals — if it reads below approximately 9V, the fixture's BMS will refuse to initialise. Connect the battery to the charger and run a full charge cycle first, then reinstall and power on the fixture.

The fixture throws an error or cuts out immediately after a battery swap on the Mega Go PAR64 RGBA — worked fine before.

The LED driver firmware runs a brief battery check on startup and can latch a fault code if it sees an unexpected voltage step during the swap. This is a firmware-level trigger, not a hardware fault. Power the fixture completely off, wait 10 seconds, then power back on — this clears the latched fault and lets the driver re-read the new pack's voltage correctly.
