Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Anritsu MT1100A — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.8V 6600mAh Li-ion battery for the Anritsu MT1100A portable diagnostic device. It replaces the original power cell in this handheld clinical and field measurement unit. Voltage and capacity match OEM specifications exactly — 14.8V nominal, 97.68Wh total energy.
- MT1100A platform fit: The MT1100A uses a 14.8V four-cell Li-ion configuration. The BMS on this device validates cell voltage at startup against internal thresholds before enabling full operation. Batteries outside that voltage window are rejected before the device completes its boot sequence.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load discharge, monitoring BMS communication and cutoff behaviour. The protection circuit responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and over-current events. No false fault flags were triggered after the first full conditioning cycle.
- Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing a new cell, allow the MT1100A to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The BMS runs a verification check at startup. Cutting power mid-sequence stores a fault flag that persists until the next complete reboot — it does not indicate a failed battery.
Device not completing boot sequence on a new battery
The MT1100A performs a BMS handshake during startup that checks cell voltage against an internal acceptance threshold. A new cell shipped in storage-safe state may arrive at 13.2V or lower — below what the device expects after a "charged" state is assumed. The device stalls at the boot screen or throws a battery fault rather than completing initialisation. Charge the battery to full before the first installation, then allow the device to complete its boot cycle uninterrupted.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge
On the first charge cycle, the MT1100A's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to an uncharacterised cell. This can cause the indicator to plateau at 90–95% and stop climbing. It is not a fault — the charge controller is running a cautious first-pass algorithm. Complete a full discharge followed by a second uninterrupted charge cycle. The indicator should reach 100% and the BMS will log the cell's capacity baseline from that point forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MT1100A is alarming low battery immediately after I charged the new replacement — what's happening?
The MT1100A's BMS validates cell chemistry against stored thresholds set for the OEM cell's discharge curve. A new cell needs one full charge-discharge cycle before the BMS accepts its voltage profile as "full." Run one complete cycle — full charge, full discharge under normal device use, then recharge to 100% — and the low battery alarm will stop triggering at incorrect states.
The MT1100A won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat unused for several months — is the cell dead?
Li-ion cells self-discharge over time, and the MT1100A's BMS has a minimum recovery threshold — typically around 12.0V for a 14.8V four-cell pack. If the cell dropped below that floor during storage, the BMS blocks power-on to prevent damage. Connect the battery to the charger for at least two hours before attempting to power on. If the charge IC accepts it, voltage will climb back above the recovery threshold and the device will boot normally.
The MT1100A shuts off unexpectedly mid-use, but the battery showed a strong charge beforehand — why?
New Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance in the first 10 cycles, which causes voltage sag under the MT1100A's load profile during active measurement operations. If that sag dips below the device's under-voltage cutoff threshold, the BMS shuts down the pack to protect the cells — even if the state-of-charge indicator looked healthy. This behaviour resolves as the cell conditions over the first several cycles. Run five to ten full charge-discharge cycles before using the device in a clinical setting.
