Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Arlo Baby / ABA1100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A-3, 308-10033-01)
This is a 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Arlo Baby indoor security camera (Model Baby, ABA1100). It matches the OEM cell dimensions of 42.40 × 34.30 × 17.50mm and uses the same voltage rail the camera's firmware expects. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge through a full monitoring cycle.
- Baby and ABA1100 fit: Both model numbers share the same internal battery bay, connector pinout, and 3.7V BMS handshake. Either model accepts this cell without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Arlo Baby platform. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, balancing held across cycles, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff without false trips during IR LED pulses.
- First-install power cycle: After fitting the new battery, power cycle the camera once through the Arlo app. The firmware must register the new cell before motion events log correctly to cloud storage — skipping this step can cause missed clips even when the camera appears online.
Why the Arlo Baby goes offline in the app after a battery swap
The Arlo Baby holds a session token in RAM that ties the camera to the cloud backend. Removing the battery clears that token. When the new cell goes in, the camera reboots and attempts to reconnect, but the app sometimes fails to re-establish the link automatically. If the camera shows offline after swap, open the Arlo app, go to Device Settings, and tap Restart Device. This forces a fresh token handshake without a full re-pair.
App showing 0% or stuck percentage after installing a new battery
The Arlo Baby uses a voltage-threshold indicator, not a fuel-gauge IC — the camera reads cell voltage at intervals and maps it to percentage bands. A brand-new cell sitting at a slightly different resting voltage than the depleted original can land outside the expected band, so the app displays 0% or a stale figure. Run one full charge to 100% via the Arlo charging cable, then let the camera draw the cell down through normal use. After that single cycle the voltage thresholds recalibrate and the percentage reads accurately. Target a resting voltage of approximately 4.1–4.2V post-charge to confirm the cell seated correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Arlo Baby stops recording mid-clip — could the new battery be causing this?
Yes, this is a known BMS trip triggered by a WiFi reconnect current spike. When the camera is on a weak signal, the WiFi radio draws a sharp burst of current to re-establish the connection mid-recording, and the BMS interprets that spike as an overcurrent event and cuts output. Move the camera closer to the router or add a WiFi extender to reduce reconnect attempts. As a baseline check, confirm the cell is sitting above 3.9V resting voltage — below that threshold the BMS becomes more sensitive to current spikes.
Night vision cuts out after dark even though the battery charge looks fine in the app?
The IR LED array on the Arlo Baby draws sustained current that is meaningfully higher than daytime operation. If the cell has shallow-cycled for a long period, internal resistance rises and the cell can no longer deliver that sustained draw without voltage sagging below the BMS cutoff — even if the app shows a reasonable percentage. This is a cell-condition issue, not a firmware bug. Fit the replacement battery, run a full charge cycle, then test night vision in a dark room for at least 15 minutes. If it holds, the original cell had elevated internal resistance.
Motion alerts stopped triggering after I replaced the battery — camera is online and streaming fine?
The combined current spike from the IR LEDs and processor activating together on a motion event can exceed the BMS trip threshold if the firmware hasn't re-registered the new cell. This is separate from the camera being online — streaming is a steady low draw, motion triggering is an abrupt high draw. Power cycle the camera through the Arlo app under Device Settings → Restart Device to force the firmware to re-register the cell. After the restart, walk past the camera to confirm motion events are logging to the cloud clip library.
