Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Arlo Pro 3 / Pro 4 / Go 2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A-7a / A-14 / 308-50019-01)
This 3.7V lithium-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Arlo Pro 3, Pro 4, Go 2, and FB1001 wire-free security cameras. Capacity is 13400mAh (49.58Wh) — higher than the stock cell. It uses the same OEM form factor and connector so it installs without modification.
- Pro 3, Pro 4, Go 2, and FB1001 compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell works across all of them because Arlo standardised the voltage rail and communication lines from the Pro 3 generation forward.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell in a Pro 3 unit and cycled it through motion-trigger events and night vision sequences. The BMS held voltage under sustained IR LED draw and responded correctly to the camera's charge management circuit without false low-battery flags.
- First-install power cycle: After fitting this battery, remove and reinsert it once, then open the Arlo app and trigger a manual restart of the camera. The firmware must register the new cell before motion-recording events log correctly to cloud storage — skipping this step can cause the first few clips to drop.
Camera going offline in the Arlo app after battery swap
When you pull the original battery, the camera loses power and its active session token with the Arlo cloud expires. The camera comes back online at the hardware level but the app still shows it as offline because the firmware hasn't re-registered the session. This is not a battery fault. Open the Arlo app, go to Camera Settings, and use the Restart option to force a fresh cloud handshake. The camera should appear online within 60 seconds of the restart completing.
App reporting 0% or an incorrect charge percentage after install
The Arlo Pro 3 uses a voltage-threshold indicator — not a fuel-gauge IC — to estimate charge level. When a new cell goes in at a voltage the camera hasn't calibrated against, the percentage readout can stick at 0% or jump to an implausible number. Run one full charge cycle through the base station or USB-C port until the app confirms 100%, then allow the camera to draw the cell down through normal use. After that single cycle the voltage thresholds align and the percentage tracks accurately. If the readout stays wrong after two full cycles, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flush.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Arlo Pro 3 stops recording mid-clip even though the battery shows charge — what's causing it?
A WiFi reconnect during recording pulls a current spike that can trip the BMS on a weakened or partially discharged cell. This battery's higher capacity (13400mAh) reduces how often the cell voltage dips into that trigger zone, but the root fix is signal strength — move the camera closer to the router or add a range extender until the RSSI in the Arlo app sits above -65 dBm.
Night vision cuts out after the camera runs overnight — is the battery draining too fast?
Sustained IR LED draw is the heaviest continuous load the Pro 3 places on the cell. If the original battery is still installed and capacity has faded, the voltage can drop below the BMS cutoff threshold during a long dark period even though the app showed a reasonable percentage at dusk. Swap in this replacement cell, run one full charge cycle, then check the app the following morning — if the IR LED draw was the issue, night vision will hold through the session at the higher capacity.
The solar panel I have connected isn't bringing the depleted battery back — is the panel faulty?
The BMS on this cell requires a minimum input voltage to exit deep-discharge protection and accept a charge — a marginal solar panel output in low light or winter conditions can fall below that re-entry threshold. Check the panel's output voltage with a multimeter in direct sunlight; it needs to deliver at least 5V at the camera's charge input. If it does, manually charge the battery in the base station or via USB-C to bring it above 3.0V first, then reconnect the solar panel — once the BMS has exited protection mode, the panel can maintain the charge normally.
