Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus ROG G501JW / N501JW Series — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C41N1416)
This is a 15.2V, 3700mAh (56.24Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Asus ROG G501JW gaming laptop and N501JW notebook series. It replaces OEM part numbers C41N1416 and 0B200-01250100. The physical dimensions are 253.96 × 100.28 × 10.00mm — confirm these against your existing cell before installing.
- G501JW and N501JW platform fit: These models share an identical battery bay footprint, connector pinout, and 15.2V four-cell Li-Polymer BMS handshake. The same part number covers both chassis without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a G501JW under combined CPU and display load. The BMS held the 15.2V rail steady through charge and discharge cycles, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff without false trips.
- Post-install calibration on ROG BIOS: After installing, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after a cell swap on ROG hardware.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the new cell
The ROG G501JW BIOS stores charge history and wear data in EEPROM on the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS reads no historical data and flags the battery as degraded or unknown. This is a firmware state issue, not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — the BIOS learn cycle rewrites the health data against the new cell's actual capacity. After two to three cycles, the health indicator updates correctly.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the fuel gauge
The fuel gauge IC calibrates its state-of-charge estimate against the old cell's voltage curve. A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve, so the IC calls empty well before the actual cutoff voltage. The laptop shuts down because the OS acts on the IC's reading, not the raw voltage. Force two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles without interruption — by the second cycle the fuel gauge IC has mapped the new cell's curve and the reading stabilises. If the problem persists past three cycles, check that the BIOS is not applying a custom low-battery threshold above the default 15.2V rail floor.

Frequently Asked Questions
Windows shows the new battery as 0% and won't charge — is the cell dead out of the box?
This is almost always the BIOS EEPROM state from the old cell carrying over. The G501JW BIOS can lock charge control when it reads no valid history from a fresh cell. Shut the laptop down completely, remove AC power for 30 seconds, then reconnect AC before powering on. If charge still doesn't start, enter the BIOS, navigate to Battery Health Charging, disable any charge limit, save and exit, then let the cell charge from its current voltage to 100% uninterrupted.
System info shows the battery capacity as significantly lower than 56.24Wh — is something wrong with the cell?
The Wh figure Windows or HWiNFO reports pulls from the EEPROM on the cell, which stores the rated design capacity. The new cell's EEPROM value and the OS fuel gauge estimate don't always match immediately after a swap on ROG hardware. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles and let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the actual chemistry. After calibration, the reported value should read at or close to 56.24Wh.
Charge stops at 80% and won't go higher no matter how long it stays on AC power.
The G501JW ships with Asus Battery Health Charging enabled in the BIOS and MyASUS software. This is a deliberate firmware-controlled charge ceiling set at 80% to reduce cell stress — it is not a battery fault. Open MyASUS, go to Battery Health Charging, and switch the mode from Balanced or Maximum Lifespan to Full Capacity. The charge ceiling lifts and the cell will charge to 100%.
