Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Q502L Series — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B41N1341)
This is a 15.2V 4200mAh (63.84Wh) lithium-polymer battery for the Asus VivoBook Q502L notebook. It fits the Q502L, Q502LA, Q502LA-BBI5T12, and Q502LA-BBI5T15. It replaces OEM part numbers B41N1341 and 0B200-00960000.
- Q502L series fit: These models share the same 15.2V four-cell Li-Polymer configuration, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between Q502L variants requires no adapter or wiring change — the BMS communicates directly over the same SMBus line used in the original pack.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Q502LA unit and logged the BMS charge cycle from 0% to full. The protection circuit held charge termination cleanly at 17.4V across all four cells and passed thermal monitoring checks without triggering overcurrent cutoff under sustained CPU load.
- First-cycle reset on Q502L: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to automatic hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the false "poor health" warning that appears routinely after any cell swap on this platform.
Why the Q502L shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap
The Q502LA's BIOS tracks battery voltage curves built around the original cell's discharge profile. A new cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity curve, so the fuel gauge IC reads the remaining charge incorrectly at higher load states. When the CPU and display draw full power simultaneously, actual cell voltage drops below the BIOS shutdown threshold before the gauge reaches zero. Running two or three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new chemistry and eliminates the early cutoff.
BIOS reporting the replacement battery's Wh rating as wrong
The Wh figure shown in BIOS or Windows Battery Report pulls from EEPROM data embedded in the battery pack — not from a live measurement. If the EEPROM value in the new cell differs from the original pack's rated Wh, BIOS will display a different number even when the actual chemistry is correct. This is a data mismatch, not a capacity fault. Confirm the voltage reads 15.2V and the cell charges to full — those are the functional checks that matter, not the EEPROM Wh label.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Q502LA fuel gauge is jumping around wildly — showing 60%, then 35%, then 80% within minutes of unplugging. Is the new battery faulty?
The fuel gauge IC on the Q502L needs several full cycles to map its charge algorithm against a new cell's actual discharge curve. The erratic readings are the IC interpolating badly against chemistry data it hasn't calibrated yet. Run three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles, charging to 100% each time without interrupting. After the third cycle, gauge accuracy stabilises to within a few percentage points.
The Q502LA won't charge above 80% since I fitted the replacement — it just stops there every time.
The Q502L BIOS includes a battery charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. This is a firmware control, not a fault with the replacement cell. Open MyASUS or ASUS Battery Health Charging utility, set the mode to "Full Capacity Mode," and the charge ceiling lifts to 100% immediately. If the utility isn't installed, download it from the Asus support page for the Q502LA.
Windows shows the battery as "0% available (plugged in, charging)" and it's been on charge for two hours — nothing is moving.
This happens when the BIOS hasn't completed its initial handshake with the new cell's BMS after the swap. Shut the laptop down completely — not restart, full shutdown — then hold the power button for 10 seconds with the AC adapter disconnected to drain residual capacitor charge. Reconnect AC only, power on, and let it sit at the BIOS POST screen for 60 seconds before booting Windows. The charge percentage should begin moving once the BMS handshake completes; expect it to read accurately above 15.2V cell voltage.
