Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Envy X360 / Pavilion X360 — 10.95V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LE03 / HSTNN-YB5Q)
This is a 10.95V, 4000mAh (43.8Wh) Li-Polymer cell for the HP Envy X360 and Pavilion X360 convertible laptop series. It matches OEM part numbers LE03, HSTNN-YB5Q, 796356-005, and 796220-831. Coverage includes the Pavilion X360 13-S001 and related 13-inch variants.
- X360 convertible compatibility: The Envy X360 and Pavilion X360 share the same 10.95V three-cell battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits both chassis lines without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, full discharge to hibernate cutoff, and a second full charge. The BMS flagged correct capacity, accepted the charge curve without interruption, and reported accurate Wh data to the OS after cycle two.
- First-cycle calibration on HP convertibles: After installing, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the Envy X360 reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap
The HP BIOS stores learned capacity data from the old cell in its battery EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, that stored data no longer matches the fresh chemistry — so the BIOS flags the battery as degraded before a single charge cycle runs. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Running the calibration cycle described above forces the BIOS to re-learn capacity against the new cell and clears the health warning. After two full cycles, the OS health readout should stabilise at normal.
Envy X360 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the old cell can no longer hold voltage under combined CPU and display load — the actual cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC is still reading from stale calibration data, so the percentage shown is wrong. On a new cell this behaviour disappears after two full discharge-charge calibration cycles. If it persists past cycle three, check that the BIOS battery charge limit setting is not capped — navigate to BIOS > Power > Battery Health Manager and confirm the setting is not set to "Maximize Battery Health," which holds charge to 80%.

Frequently Asked Questions
My HP Envy X360 shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" in Windows — did I get a dud cell?
This is the BIOS reading stale EEPROM data from the old cell, not a fault with the replacement. The fuel gauge IC has no calibration data for the new chemistry yet, so Windows reports an unknown or zero state. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — after that first complete cycle the OS reads the cell correctly.
The Envy X360 BIOS says the battery Wh rating is wrong after I swapped the cell — should I be concerned?
The BIOS stores the rated Wh figure from the original cell in firmware. The new cell carries its own EEPROM value, and until the BIOS re-learns against it, the reported Wh can appear off. This is a data mismatch, not a capacity defect. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles and the BIOS will overwrite the old figure with the value read from the new cell's EEPROM.
Why does the replacement battery on my Pavilion X360 stop charging at exactly 80% and never go higher?
HP BIOS includes a Battery Health Manager feature that deliberately caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell wear. It is not a fault with the cell — the BMS is following a firmware instruction. Open the BIOS at startup, go to Power > Battery Health Manager, and switch the setting from "Maximize Battery Health" to "Let HP Manage" or "Maximize My Battery Life" to restore full charge to 100%.
