Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus ROG Strix GL703GM Scar Edition — 15.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C41N1716)
This is a 15.4V, 4800mAh (73.92Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Asus ROG Strix GL703GM Scar Edition and GL703GM gaming laptops. It replaces OEM part C41N1716 and fits the four-cell configuration used across the GL703GM platform. Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns under load.
- GL703GM platform fit: The GL703GM and ROG STRIX S7BS8750 variants share the same 15.4V four-cell bus, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a GL703GM unit. The BMS negotiated correctly, charge termination triggered at 16.8V, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly on a simulated over-discharge test.
- Post-install calibration on GL703GM: After fitting, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff under real load — gaming or a sustained CPU stress test works — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
Why the GL703GM shuts down at 20–30% battery remaining after a cell swap
The GL703GM's fuel gauge IC builds a discharge model around the original cell's chemistry profile stored in EEPROM. A new cell has a different actual voltage curve, so the IC misjudges the remaining charge and calls shutdown too early. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a calibration gap between the new chemistry and the old model. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate, then charge-to-100% cycles, and the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell's actual voltage floor.
BIOS reports battery health as "poor" or "replace" immediately after installation
The BIOS pulls health data from the battery's EEPROM, which on a new cell shows zero charge cycles completed and may flag a mismatch against the previous cell's wear history. This triggers a false health warning — the cell itself is new, not degraded. Boot into the BIOS battery care settings and confirm charge mode is set to full capacity, not battery health mode. Complete one full learn cycle (full discharge to hibernate, uninterrupted charge to 100%) and the health flag clears on the next boot.

Frequently Asked Questions
My GL703GM now shows the wrong Wh rating in Windows — it says 65Wh instead of 73.92Wh. Is the battery faulty?
The Wh figure Windows displays is read from the battery's EEPROM, which stores the rated design capacity — not the measured capacity after calibration. A new cell's EEPROM value and the Windows-reported number can differ slightly from the spec sheet figure until the fuel gauge IC completes its first full calibration cycle. Run one full discharge to hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, Windows should report the correct Wh value from the updated fuel gauge data.
The GL703GM charges fine on AC but the battery percentage jumps around wildly — 60% one minute, 45% the next.
This is the fuel gauge IC estimating charge state against a discharge model it has not yet built for the new cell. The old model is gone with the old battery, and the IC starts from scratch with a new cell. Erratic readings are normal for the first two to three cycles. Run the laptop on battery under consistent load — not idle — to give the IC a real discharge curve to learn from. By the third full cycle, the percentage should track smoothly.
The ROG Strix GL703GM won't charge above 80% even with a brand-new battery installed.
This is the BIOS charge limit feature, not a battery fault. Asus ships the GL703GM with a Battery Health Charging option in MyASUS or the BIOS that caps charging at 60% or 80% to reduce cell stress during plugged-in use. Open MyASUS, go to Battery Health Charging, and switch the mode to Full Capacity Mode. The cap releases immediately and the next charge cycle will reach 100%.
