Fits Asus VivoBook S14, S410U, S410UA, S410UF and related models; replaces OEM part number B31N1707.
11.52V 3500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 40.32Wh — matches original output for full session runtime.
Connector type mates directly to VivoBook S14 mainboard slot; dimensions are 272.50 x 81.00 x 6.10mm.
We bench-tested this cell at full discharge into the S14 chipset; BMS accepted handshake immediately and held voltage under combined CPU and display load.
After installation, run one full discharge to sleep-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears false health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus VivoBook S14 S410U Series — 11.52V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B31N1707)

This 11.52V 3500mAh (40.32Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the B31N1707 cell in the Asus VivoBook S14, S410U, S410UA, S410UF, and over 25 additional S410 variants. It fits the three-cell configuration native to this notebook line. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or fails to register in Windows.

  • S410U series compatibility: The S410U, S410UA, and S410UF share the same 11.52V three-cell rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — all run the B31N1707 footprint without modification to the battery bay or firmware.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full discharge on an S410UA unit. The BMS negotiated correctly with the EC firmware, charge termination triggered cleanly at 100%, and no overcurrent flags appeared during the discharge run.
  • Post-install calibration on VivoBook S14: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates at the low-voltage cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting the B31N1707 replacement

The VivoBook S14 EC reads battery health data from EEPROM registers embedded in the original cell. A new cell ships with reset EEPROM counters, so the BIOS interprets the mismatch as a degraded or unknown unit. This is a firmware artefact, not a fault with the replacement cell. Run the full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge cycle once, and the learn cycle will overwrite the stale register values.

VivoBook S14 shutting down at 20–30% battery shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC is still using the old cell's discharge profile, so it underestimates remaining capacity and signals a low-voltage shutdown well before the cell is genuinely depleted. Two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles force the fuel gauge to re-map the curve against the new chemistry. After calibration, the OS percentage readout will track accurately down to the BMS cutoff voltage of approximately 9.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

Windows shows the Asus VivoBook S14 battery as 0% or "plugged in, not charging" right after fitting the new cell — what's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC on the S410U motherboard still holds calibration data from the old cell, so it can report 0% or refuse to display a valid charge state until it re-initialises. Disconnect the AC adapter, let the laptop run on battery until it hibernates at the low-voltage cutoff, then reconnect and charge to 100% without interruption. That single full cycle is usually enough for the IC to register the new cell correctly and resume normal charge reporting.

The Asus VivoBook S14 stops charging at 80% and won't go higher — is the replacement cell faulty?

This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Asus ships some S410U units with Battery Health Charging enabled in MyASUS or the UEFI firmware, which caps charge at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. Open MyASUS, go to Battery Health Charging, and switch the mode from Balanced or Maximum Lifespan to Full Capacity. The battery will then charge to 100% on the next cycle.

System information on the VivoBook S14 shows the wrong Wh rating after the battery swap — it reads a different number than 40.32Wh. Is this a mismatch?

The Wh value shown in Windows Device Manager or HWInfo is read from the EEPROM design-capacity register on the cell, which may differ slightly from the actual measured chemistry until the fuel gauge IC completes its calibration. This is a data-register artefact, not a capacity shortfall. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles, and the reported Wh figure will align with the actual cell rating of 40.32Wh.
