Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus ZenBook UX51 Series — 14.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C42-UX51)
This is a 14.8V, 4750mAh (70.3Wh) Li-Polymer battery pack for the Asus ZenBook UX51 and U500VZ ultrabook lineup. It fits the ZenBook UX51VZ, U500VZ-CN032H, and the broader UX51 and U500VZ family. Install it when the original cell no longer holds enough charge for portable use.
- UX51 and U500VZ platform fitment: These models share the same 14.8V four-cell Li-Polymer architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS communication protocol over the SMBus rail — which is why one cell part number covers the full UX51 and U500VZ range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on UX51VZ hardware. The BMS handshake completed correctly, the SMBus reported accurate state-of-charge data, and the charge controller reached full cutoff without fault flags.
- First-cycle calibration on the UX51: After fitting, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the UX51's fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears in BIOS after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the C42-UX51
The ZenBook UX51 stores battery health data in EEPROM on the old cell. When a new cell is fitted, the BIOS compares live SMBus readings against that stale EEPROM baseline and flags a mismatch as poor health. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a data conflict. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a complete uninterrupted charge resets the learn cycle. After two to three full cycles, the BIOS health reading normalises.
UX51 shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge reads 20–30% remaining, but the cell has already dropped below the minimum voltage the CPU and display load can sustain — causing an abrupt shutdown. The fix is the same calibration cycle: discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two cycles the gauge tracks accurately and shutdowns at false percentages stop. Confirm calibration is complete by checking that the reported voltage at full charge sits at or above 16.6V in a battery utility.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the Asus ZenBook UX51 BIOS show the new battery as "unknown" or 0% right after I installed it?
The UX51's BIOS reads battery identity and health data from EEPROM stored on the original cell. A fresh C42-UX51 cell has a blank or mismatched EEPROM state, so the BIOS flags it as unknown. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this completes the battery learn cycle and pushes accurate data into the fuel gauge IC. The unknown or 0% reading clears within two full cycles.
The UX51 shuts down suddenly at around 25% — did I get a faulty replacement cell?
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a faulty cell. Under combined CPU and display load, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the uncalibrated fuel gauge predicts, and the laptop cuts power before the gauge reaches 0%. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by complete uninterrupted charges to calibrate the fuel gauge IC against the C42-UX51's actual discharge curve. After calibration, confirm the cell holds above 14.0V under load at the 30% mark using a battery diagnostic utility.
My UX51 now shows the battery as 70Wh in Windows but the system info previously showed a different figure — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. Windows reads the Wh rating directly from the cell's EEPROM, and a new C42-UX51 reports its factory-rated 70.3Wh. The previous figure was whatever the degraded original cell had written to its EEPROM — often lower than its original spec after repeated cycles. The 70.3Wh reading from the replacement cell is correct. No action needed.
