This is a 3.6V 1200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Audioline CDL930 cordless DECT handset and its close variants. It fits the CDL930, CDL931, CDL950, and CDL951 handsets. Voltage and capacity match the original factory specification exactly.

  • CDL930, CDL931, CDL950, CDL951 compatibility: These four models share the same handset chassis, battery bay dimensions, and 3.6V NiMH charging circuit. The base station charges at the same trickle rate across the range, so one battery cell configuration covers all four.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship partially discharged and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first cycle, the handset may show noticeably less talk time than the original battery delivered at its peak. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a fault. By cycle four or five, capacity stabilises at the 1200mAh rated figure.

Base station shows no charge or error light after fitting new battery

A NiMH pack that has been in storage can arrive with a cell voltage low enough that the base station's charge acceptance circuit does not recognise it as a valid battery. The base expects to see a voltage above its detection threshold before it begins charging. To recover the pack, hold the handset in the cradle for 30 minutes — the base typically trickle-charges below the threshold first, then steps up once voltage reaches approximately 3.0V. If the error clears, allow the full 16-hour initial charge to complete.

My Audioline CDL930 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing registration when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens during a battery swap. The handset loses the stored base station link because it has no backup power to retain it. To fix this, re-register the handset manually using the base station's paging or registration button — on the CDL930 series this is usually a long press of the base's Find/Page button while the handset is in pairing mode. Check the handset menu under "Register" or "Settings" to initiate the pairing sequence.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to the handset not making proper contact with the base charging pins, so it draws from the battery in standby rather than topping up from the mains. Check that the handset is fully and squarely seated — a slight tilt can break pin contact. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset base and the cradle with a dry cloth, as oxidation on NiMH contact points is a common cause. After reseating, confirm the charge indicator light activates on the base within 30 seconds.

After the first few charges my CDL930 handset cuts out mid-call even though the battery indicator looks fine — what causes that?

NiMH cells under RF transmit load drop voltage faster than the handset's fuel gauge expects, especially in the first conditioning cycles. The handset reads the resting voltage as acceptable but when the DECT radio fires during a call, current draw causes an immediate voltage sag that trips the low-voltage cutoff. This typically resolves itself after three to five full charge-discharge cycles, as the cells build charge memory and internal resistance falls. Run the pack down to cutoff on a call, then complete a full 16-hour base charge — repeat this cycle until talk time stabilises.
