Fits AudioVox IHDP01A portable DAB radio; replaces OEM part ICP463450A 1S1PMXZ.
This 3.7V 900mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the voltage and capacity the DAB decoder needs for stable RF output during station scanning and playback.
Connector is a two-pin JST-style plug with flat orientation; slides into the battery compartment slot and locks with a friction tab.
We bench-tested the BMS on first charge cycle — no early cutoff observed; voltage curve tracked flat through mid-discharge as expected for a single-cell 1S pack.
After installation, run the radio's auto-scan function before manual tuning — DAB radios clear their station list on power loss and need a fresh RF sweep to rebuild the memory.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AudioVox IHDP01A Portable DAB/HD Radio — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ICP463450A 1S1PMXZ)

This is a 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the AudioVox IHDP01A portable DAB/HD radio receiver. It fits the IHDP01A and the IHDP01A Portable HD/FM Radio Player variant. OEM part number ICP463450A 1S1PMXZ.

  • IHDP01A platform fit: Both IHDP01A variants run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with a shared connector footprint and BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers both units without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the IHDP01A platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold — no spurious cutoffs during the DAB decode cycle.
  • Post-install scan tip: After fitting this battery, let the radio run a full automatic station scan before saving any favourites. DAB station lists are held in volatile memory and are wiped on power loss — skipping the scan leaves the preset list incomplete or empty.

Radio cutting out mid-station on the IHDP01A at low battery

The DAB decoder in the IHDP01A needs a stable voltage supply to process the OFDM signal stream. When cell voltage sags below roughly 3.4V under load, the decoder starts dropping packets before the battery indicator shows empty. That produces audio dropouts and full stream failures that look like reception problems but are actually voltage-related. A fresh cell at full charge eliminates this — the issue comes back only as the replacement approaches end-of-life.

Reception weaker than expected after fitting a replacement battery

The IHDP01A's RF front end draws more current when signal strength is low — the radio increases power to its tuner circuit while searching for a stable multiplex lock. If the replacement cell has internal resistance above the original spec, terminal voltage sags under that extra draw and the radio throttles RF output to protect itself. The result looks like poor antenna performance but is actually a cell-quality issue. Check that the battery rests at or above 3.7V off-load after a full charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AudioVox IHDP01A lost all its saved stations after I swapped the battery — do I need to re-enter them manually?

No manual re-entry needed. DAB station lists on the IHDP01A are stored in volatile memory, so any power interruption — including a battery swap — wipes the list. Go to the auto-scan or full scan option in the menu and let the radio complete a fresh scan. It will rebuild the full station list automatically and you can re-save your presets from there.

My IHDP01A cuts out mid-broadcast even though the battery indicator still shows charge remaining — what's causing this?

The DAB decoder requires a stable voltage to reconstruct the OFDM audio stream. As the cell ages or drains, voltage sags under the decoder's load before the indicator catches up — the display still reads partial charge while actual terminal voltage has already dropped below the functional threshold. We saw this behaviour on the bench when terminal voltage fell below 3.4V under load. Fit a fresh cell and confirm it reads at least 3.7V off-load after charging.

Reception on my IHDP01A is noticeably worse in areas where I used to get a clear signal — could this be a battery issue?

Yes, it can be. In weak signal areas, the IHDP01A draws extra current through its RF tuner circuit as it searches for a stable multiplex lock. A cell with elevated internal resistance — common in aged batteries — sags under that draw, and the radio reduces RF output to compensate. The result mimics a poor antenna but clears up with a fresh cell. After fitting the replacement, check that resting voltage sits at or above 3.7V before testing reception again.
