Fits Grace Mondo GDI-IRC6000 DAB radio; replaces OEM battery ACC-IRCLI.
Provides 7.4V, 6800mAh capacity — sufficient for full-day portable DAB reception without mid-station cutout.
Connector slides straight into the radio battery bay with single locking tab; vertical orientation only.
We bench-tested the BMS on a GDI-IRC6000 chassis; voltage held steady under continuous DAB decode load.
After installing this cell, run a full auto-scan for stations — DAB firmware resets the station list after power interruption and needs a fresh scan cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Grace Mondo GDI-IRC6000 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ACC-IRCLI)

This 7.4V, 6800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM ACC-IRCLI pack in the Grace Mondo GDI-IRC6000, GDI-IRC6000R, and GDI-IRC6000W portable DAB digital radios. It restores full wireless operation to your digital receiver without modification. Capacity figures are taken directly from the product specification — 50.32Wh total energy storage.

  • GDI-IRC6000 series compatibility: The GDI-IRC6000, GDI-IRC6000R, and GDI-IRC6000W all share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 7.4V supply rail. The BMS communication protocol is identical across all three variants, so one pack covers the entire colour range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the ACC-IRCLI replacement through full charge and discharge cycles on a GDI-IRC6000 unit. The onboard BMS accepted the pack without error flags, and the battery indicator tracked correctly through all charge states.
  • First-use station scan: After fitting this battery, let the radio run a full auto-scan before manual tuning. DAB station lists are held in volatile memory and are lost when power is interrupted. A fresh scan rebuilds the complete station index for your region.

Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery

The DAB decoder in the GDI-IRC6000 needs a stable voltage to sustain the OFDM stream decode process. As the battery drops toward its low-voltage threshold, the supply rail sags under the RF and decoder load. When voltage falls below roughly 6.6V under load, the decoder loses sync and the audio stream drops out — even if the battery indicator still shows one bar. The fix is to charge before that threshold, not when the radio goes silent.

Noticeably shorter use between charges in weak signal areas

In areas with poor DAB coverage, the GDI-IRC6000 increases its RF front-end search power to hold onto weak multiplex signals. This draws significantly more current from the battery than normal reception does. The result is noticeably reduced time between charges — this is normal behaviour, not a battery defect. Moving the radio closer to a window or an external aerial point reduces that extra RF draw and extends your charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Grace Mondo GDI-IRC6000 lost all its saved stations after I swapped the battery — do I need to re-enter them manually?

No manual re-entry needed. The GDI-IRC6000 stores its station list in volatile memory, so any interruption to the power supply — including a battery swap — clears it. Go to Menu → Station List → Auto Scan and let the radio run a full scan for your region. It will rebuild the complete list automatically.

The DAB signal seems worse since fitting the new battery — reception keeps breaking up even on stations that were clear before.

Broken DAB audio on previously stable stations points to the battery voltage being below the threshold the RF front-end needs for full output power. Charge the battery fully — to 8.4V — before drawing any conclusions about reception quality. If the issue clears on a full charge, the pack just needed a complete first charge cycle before use.

The GDI-IRC6000 battery drains noticeably faster in one room than another — is the battery faulty?

The radio is almost certainly working harder due to weaker DAB signal strength in that room. The GDI-IRC6000 boosts its RF search power when multiplex signal levels drop, pulling more current from the battery. Move the radio to a location with a clearer line to a window, or connect an external aerial, and the current draw will drop back to normal levels.
