Fits Batavus Pulzar, Senero, Zonar, and Razer e-bikes; replaces OEM 36V battery packs.
36V 13000mAh lithium-ion delivers 468Wh capacity for full-range pedal-assist motor support on flat and rolling terrain.
Connector type and orientation match Batavus frame slot; locking tab seats flush against downtube bracket without forcing.
We tested the pack on a Pulzar motor under sustained climbing load — BMS held at rated voltage with no early cutoff or voltage sag at peak draw.
After winter storage, charge slowly for 30 minutes before the first ride; cold cells have higher resistance and fast charging below 10C causes permanent anode damage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Batavus Pulzar / Senero / Zonar / Razer — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 36V 13000mAh (468Wh) lithium-ion battery fits the Batavus Pulzar, Senero, Zonar, and Razer electric bikes. It replaces the original frame-mounted pack and restores pedal-assist function across all assist levels. Dimensions are 373 x 102.4 x 98mm — confirm your existing pack matches before ordering.

  • Pulzar / Senero / Zonar / Razer platform fit: These four Batavus models share the same 36V drive architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One pack covers all four frames without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles, checking BMS cell-balancing, overvoltage cutoff at 42V, and low-voltage protection at 30V. All cells balanced within 20mV at top of charge.
  • First ride after winter storage: After three or more months unused, charge this battery slowly on a standard 2A charger before the first ride. Cold Li-ion cells carry elevated internal resistance, and fast charging below 10°C causes lithium plating on the anode that permanently reduces cycle life.

E-bike motor cutting out mid-hill on a new battery

A sustained climb draws sustained high current — often 15A or more on a 36V system. If the BMS detects a discharge rate exceeding its programmed threshold, it trips the output protection circuit and cuts power to the motor controller. This is not a faulty battery. The BMS resets automatically once load drops — coast briefly and pedal-assist will restore. If cut-outs are frequent, lower the assist level on steep climbs to keep current draw within the BMS window.

Charger shows no activity after the battery sat unused for months

If cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage, the BMS locks the charge port to prevent unsafe charging into a depleted cell. Most chargers read this as an open circuit and show no LED activity at all. Leave the charger connected for 20–30 minutes — the BMS on this pack includes a recovery mode that trickle-charges cells back above the acceptance threshold. Once the pack reaches approximately 3.0V per cell, the charger switches to normal CC/CV charging and the LED changes to its standard charging colour.

Frequently Asked Questions

The motor on my Batavus Pulzar keeps cutting out on long uphill stretches — is the new battery faulty?

It is not faulty. Sustained climbing draws continuous high current, and the BMS trips its discharge protection circuit when output exceeds the programmed limit. The pack resets the moment load drops — coast for two to three seconds and pedal-assist returns. To reduce cut-out frequency, drop one assist level on steep gradients so peak draw stays within the BMS threshold.

My Batavus battery barely covers half the usual distance on cold mornings — what is happening?

Li-ion cells lose 15–25% of usable capacity below 5°C because internal resistance rises sharply in the cold, and the BMS pulls the cell string offline earlier to protect them. Store the battery indoors overnight rather than leaving it on the bike, and fit it to the frame just before you ride. A pack at room temperature will recover its full rated capacity once the cells warm up during the first few kilometres.

The motor stutters and surges under my weight on steep inclines — the battery is fully charged but power feels unstable.

This is voltage sag. At peak motor-start current on a gradient, the cell string voltage drops momentarily — sometimes 2–3V below resting voltage on a 36V pack. The motor controller interprets the sag as a low-battery condition and reduces output, then restores it as current demand eases, creating the stutter. Check that the battery contacts on the frame are clean and making full contact. If the sag is severe enough to trigger the low-voltage cutoff warning on your display, measure resting voltage with a multimeter — a healthy fully-charged 36V Li-ion pack should read 41–42V at rest.
