Fits Sinus pedelecs e-bikes and restores motor output on aged original packs.
36V 13000mAh lithium-ion delivers 468Wh — sufficient for flat terrain commutes and moderate hill assist.
Connector slides into the standard Sinus frame slot with a positive locking tab.
We bench-tested this pack on a Sinus motor load — BMS held steady under sustained climbing current without nuisance trips.
After winter storage, charge slowly for 30 minutes before riding — cold cells have high internal resistance and accept charge more safely at low current.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sinus Pedelecs — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 36V 13000mAh (468Wh) lithium-ion battery for Sinus pedelec electric bicycles. It fits the motor drive system that powers both pedal-assist and throttle modes. Swap it when the original pack no longer delivers the range or power your riding needs.

  • Pedelec motor system fit: Sinus pedelecs use a 36V architecture across the motor controller, battery management system, and display. This pack matches that voltage rail and connector format, so the BMS handshake completes and the controller reads state-of-charge correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles and simulated motor-draw loads. The BMS held cutoff thresholds at both the low-voltage floor and the peak-current ceiling, with no spurious trips under sustained draw.
  • Post-storage charge protocol: After winter storage, charge the battery slowly on arrival — cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and pushing fast charge current below 10°C causes lithium plating on the anode that permanently reduces cycle life. Let the pack warm to room temperature first, then connect the charger.

E-bike motor cutting out mid-hill on a new battery

Climbing a steep gradient pulls sustained high current from the pack — often 15A or more on a 36V system. If the BMS detects that current exceeding its overcurrent threshold, it trips and cuts motor output instantly. This is a protection response, not a fault with the cell capacity. The fix is to reduce assist level on steep sections, which lowers peak draw and keeps the BMS within its operating window.

Charger not accepting the pack after extended storage

When a Li-ion pack sits unused for months, cells can self-discharge below the voltage floor that most chargers recognise as a valid battery — typically around 25V on a 36V nominal pack. The charger sees a voltage too low to safely initiate a charge cycle and refuses to start. Connect the charger and leave it for 30 minutes — many chargers will trickle current to bring the pack back up to acceptance voltage before switching to normal charge. If the LED stays red or unlit past 30 minutes, check that the pack is reading at least 28V at the terminals with a multimeter.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sinus pedelec motor stutters and surges when I'm climbing with a heavy load — why does this happen on a new battery?

Under heavy rider load on an incline, peak current demand spikes hard — a 36V motor controller can pull 20A or more in bursts. If the pack's internal resistance is slightly elevated, voltage sags at those peaks and the controller briefly drops below its minimum operating voltage, causing the stutter. This is voltage sag under pulse load, not a capacity problem. Shift to a lower assist mode on steep sections to reduce peak draw, or check that the battery connector is fully seated so contact resistance isn't adding to the sag.

My Sinus e-bike range dropped sharply on the first cold ride of the year — is the battery failing?

No — Li-ion cells lose 15–25% of their usable capacity below 5°C because ion mobility through the electrolyte slows in cold conditions, raising internal resistance. The capacity hasn't permanently dropped; it returns as the pack warms up during the ride. Before your first cold-weather ride, store the battery indoors overnight and mount it just before you leave, keeping the pack above 10°C at the start. Once cells reach operating temperature, you'll see range recover noticeably within the first few kilometres.

The Sinus battery shows full charge on the display but the motor loses power halfway through the ride — what's causing this?

This is cell imbalance — individual cells within the pack age at slightly different rates, so one or more cells hit their low-voltage cutoff before the overall state-of-charge indicator reaches zero. The BMS reads a full pack average but cuts output to protect the weakest cells. Run two or three full charge-and-discharge cycles to let the BMS balance cells at the top of charge. If the premature cutoff persists after three cycles, check the resting pack voltage at the terminals — a balanced 36V Li-ion pack at around 50% charge should read approximately 37.0–37.5V.
