BBK VIVO Y33 / Y33L — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B-85)

This is a 3.85V, 2100mAh (8.09Wh) Li-Polymer cell for the VIVO Y33 and VIVO Y33L smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers B-85 and BK-B-85. If your original cell swells, drains rapidly, or fails to hold a charge, this is the direct swap.

• VIVO Y33 and Y33L compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The Y33L is a variant of the Y33 platform — same voltage rail, same connector, same cell footprint at 78.30 × 57.06 × 3.14 mm.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a VIVO Y33 unit and confirmed BMS communication, charge acceptance, and capacity reporting through the OS. The fuel gauge IC recognised the new cell without manual intervention after one full discharge-charge cycle.

Why the VIVO Y33 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC in the Y33 stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you install a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's chemistry profile. The OS reads from this outdated model, so percentage jumps or stalls — typically between 40% and 80%. One full discharge to near-zero followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the coulomb counter to rebuild the curve against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped the new cell's voltage cliff — the point where cell voltage drops sharply under screen or modem load. The OS thinks there's capacity remaining, but the cell voltage falls below the BMS cutoff threshold under load before the gauge catches up. It isn't a faulty cell — it's an uncalibrated gauge. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging, and the shutdowns stop once the coulomb counter locks onto the correct cliff voltage near 3.4V.
