Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BBK VIVO Y9S / V1945A / V1945T — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B-K3)
This is a 3.85V, 4200mAh (16.17Wh) Li-Polymer cell built to replace the B-K3 battery in the VIVO Y9S, V1945A, and V1945T smartphones. It matches the original voltage rail and connector, so the phone's charge IC and BMS communicate with the replacement without modification. Physical dimensions are 78.38 × 61.85 × 5.10mm — verify clearance before installation if your unit has aftermarket adhesive residue on the battery tray.
- VIVO Y9S, V1945A, V1945T fitment: All three model numbers share the same battery bay geometry, flex connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers all three variants without adapter or wiring change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a VIVO Y9S unit. The BMS accepted the cell, charge current ramped correctly, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage threshold without nuisance cutoffs.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the VIVO Y9S after a cell swap
The VIVO Y9S uses a coulomb counter-based fuel gauge that was calibrated to the original cell's internal resistance curve. A new cell has a different voltage-versus-state-of-charge profile, so the OS reads 25% remaining while the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the modem's minimum operating threshold. The phone cuts out before the display ever reaches 0%. One full discharge cycle — letting the phone shut itself off naturally, then charging to 100% uninterrupted — resets the coulomb counter reference points and eliminates the early shutdown.
USB fast charge not engaging on the first cycle after replacement
VIVO's proprietary fast charge handshake involves the charge IC querying the BMS before it steps up current. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS may return a state-of-charge value that causes the charge IC to default to standard 5V/1A input until one cycle completes. This is a software-side safety gate, not a hardware fault with the replacement cell. Charge once at standard speed to full, then disconnect and reconnect — the handshake will re-negotiate and fast charging should activate at that point.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VIVO Y9S shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new B-K3 cell — it jumped from 60% to 15% in minutes. What's causing this?
The fuel gauge IC on the VIVO Y9S stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell, and the new cell's voltage profile doesn't match it. The percentage reading is based on a map that no longer applies, so the counter skips erratically. Run one full discharge — let the phone power off on its own — then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates against the new cell and the percentage stabilises.
The phone won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it. Is the cell dead?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the B-K3 dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS locks out to prevent unsafe charging of an over-discharged cell. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a reduced rate to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage recovers above 3.0V, the BMS unlocks and normal charging resumes.
The back of my VIVO Y9S gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell. Is this normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, and the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat while pushing current into it during the first few cycles. The warmth is at the charge IC and cell interface, not a sign of a faulty unit. It reduces after two or three full cycles as impedance drops. If the back becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that the battery flex connector is fully seated — a partial connection forces the IC to work harder and generates excess heat.
