Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo K5 Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LB003)
This is a 3.85V, 2900mAh Li-Polymer cell replacing part number LB003. It fits the Lenovo K5, K5 Dual SIM, and K350t smartphones. Capacity figures come from the product data — 11.17Wh total stored energy at rated voltage.
- K5, K5 Dual SIM, and K350t compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The K350t is a regional variant of the K5 platform — same 3.85V rail, same fuel gauge IC communication lines, same physical footprint at 77.80 × 63.14 × 3.80mm.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a K5 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without a fault code on first power-up. Charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity and the protection circuit tripped as expected on a simulated short.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Why the K5 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The K5 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge model from the previous cell's discharge history. When you swap to a new cell, the IC still references the old curve. This causes the percentage readout to lag or jump — sometimes showing 100% when the cell isn't full, or dropping fast through the mid-range. One full discharge down to auto-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to recalibrate against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem fires a high-current burst — during a call, data sync, or GPS fix — and the cell voltage dips below the BMS protection threshold under that load spike. A partially calibrated fuel gauge makes this worse because the displayed percentage doesn't reflect actual remaining capacity. The fix is the same recalibration cycle: one full discharge and charge with fast charging off. If shutdowns continue past two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a half-latched connector raises contact resistance and amplifies voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The K5 shows 30% battery and then shuts off with no warning — is the new cell faulty?
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a faulty cell. The modem or screen pulls a current spike that drops cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge registers it as low. It happens most often in the first few cycles on a new cell because the coulomb counter is still calibrated to the old battery's discharge curve. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown and a full uninterrupted charge to 100% with fast charging disabled — the shutdowns typically stop after that cycle.
Fast charging stopped working after fitting the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On first connection to a charger, the new cell's BMS may not respond to the handshake the charge IC sends to enable the fast-charge protocol. The phone defaults to standard 5V charging as a fallback. Charge the phone fully at standard rate, then reboot and reconnect to the fast charger — most K5 units accept the fast-charge handshake from the second cycle onward once the BMS has completed one full charge termination event.
The K5 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage for a few weeks before fitting.
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below 2.5V per cell while sitting unused, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.8V, at which point the BMS unlocks and normal charging resumes.
