Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bea-fon SL470 / SL570 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SL470/SL570)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell built to replace the original battery in the Bea-fon SL470, SL570, SL670A, and SL670_EU001W. It shares the same 47.10 × 44.00 × 5.50mm footprint as the factory cell. Voltage and connector match the original so the phone's charge circuit accepts it without modification.

  • SL470 / SL570 / SL670 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. One cell covers the full lineup because the BMS handshake parameters are consistent across all variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through charge and discharge on a SL470 unit. The phone's charge IC accepted the new cell on the first connection, BMS protection tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff, and the phone completed a full charge without error flags.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using the phone normally. The SL470's fuel gauge IC needs a full reference cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve — skipping this produces inaccurate percentage readings from the start.

Why the SL470 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The SL470 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state against a stored discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell has a different internal impedance profile, so the IC's coulomb counter falls out of sync immediately. The phone may show 80% and shut down minutes later, or sit at 20% for an extended period. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the reference points the gauge uses for all future readings.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under load — screen backlight, active call, or network search — the cell's terminal voltage drops sharply below the 3.0V threshold the SL470's protection circuit monitors. The phone shuts down to protect the cell even though the displayed percentage suggests charge remains. It is most common on the first few cycles before the fuel gauge IC has calibrated to the new cell. Run the recalibration cycle described above; if the shutdown persists past three full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated and that contact resistance is below 0.5Ω.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SL470 shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

Almost certainly not a faulty cell. This is a voltage cliff: under screen or call load, the cell's terminal voltage drops below the phone's 3.0V protection threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage reading is misleading. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% — the shutdowns typically stop after that calibration cycle.

The phone won't power on at all after the new battery sat uninstalled in a drawer for several months — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS entered a lockout state to prevent damage from deep discharge. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which the phone should boot normally.

The percentage on the SL470 jumps around erratically — it went from 60% to 34% in two minutes without heavy use.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration symptom, not hardware damage. The coulomb counter inside the phone was tracking charge against the worn original cell and has not yet mapped the new cell's discharge curve. Complete two full cycles — discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% each time — and the gauge will stabilise against the new cell's actual capacity.
